Isaiah 38 – I’m in trouble, Lord | the Bible in Song by Project of Love | ❤️ NO AI! #152

I’m a firm believer in healing. I believe in God’s goodness.

At the same time, I have to acknowledge that I’m a work in progress. Every day I’m learning new things about God, and I dare say that even eternity is not enough to fully know Him.

But I’m convinced of God’s goodness. I’ve seen firsthand what He did in my life and what He is still doing.

Does that mean I live a carefree life? Well, yes and no. I’m learning to trust God in everything. I’m learning to “look at the birds” and to let go of things that weren’t meant for me to carry.

At the same time, I have a lot of challenges in my life that make it harder. Some of them are financial, some are related to health, and some are related to running a global ministry with just two people. 😅

Are there things that don’t rhyme with the goodness of God? Yes, actually quite a few.

I won’t deny that there are things that don’t make sense. But I’ve learned in my walk with God that some things take time. Just like a seed takes time to grow into a strong and healthy tree, I too must allow some things to go unanswered in order to grow.

I can tell you what I don’t do. I don’t base (or adjust) my views or theological understanding solely on what I see or understand. That’s a slippery slope.

Suppose I’m studying to become a doctor. It’s a bit silly to presume I know what it is to be a doctor after one year of med school, or even after six years. And though I could feel more like a doctor after thirty years, I would still encounter things I don’t understand or that don’t make sense.

But I’ll admit, some days it’s easier to sing “the goodness of God” from the top of my lungs than others. 😉

Thank God for Proverbs 25:20, it says: “Singing cheerful songs to a person with a heavy heart is like taking someone’s coat in cold weather or pouring vinegar in a wound.”

So this song I wrote together with the Comforter, the Healer of broken hearts (Isaiah 61), is for all of you out there who need an extra bit of encouragement.

And if you know of anyone who finds themselves in a tough spot, just like king Hezekiah did in Isaiah 38, send them this song. Sometimes, even more than healing, we need to know we are loved, not forgotten, and just be in the arms of Papa.

— LYRICS
Isaiah 38 – I’m in trouble, Lord

10. In the prime of my life,
must I now enter the place of the dead?
Am I to be robbed of the rest of my years?

11. Never again will I see the Lord God
while still in the land of the living.

Never again will I see my friends

12. My life has been blown away
like a shepherd’s tent in a storm.

It has been cut short,
as when a weaver cuts cloth from a loom.
Suddenly, my life was over.

13. I waited patiently all night,
but I was torn apart as though by lions.
Suddenly, my life was over.

14. I am in trouble, Lord. Help me!

18. The dead cannot praise you
19. As I do

16. You restore my health
and allow me to live!

20. The Lord is ready to heal me!
I will sing His praises every day of my life

  1. .. This is part of my testimony. The depths of His healing we have no idea… spirit, soul & body. So many times as humans we jus want our pain to stop. But, He sees all things (our end, from the beginning). He goes to the depths of our souls & beyond. He fills our crushed spirit with Himself. He is always ready to heal us, but are we? Our part is yielding at the alter of surrender & giving ourselves to Him completely. We must all reach the end of ourselves & there He is… holding all the broken pieces… It's not jus a process, it's a journey to WHOLENESS only found in Him. He is so faithful! Thank you, Xander for another beautiful song! It made my morning❣️ 🌄

  2. This is a great chapter in the book of Isaiah because Hezekiah was near death and when he reminded God of how faithful he was to Him over the years, God extended his life another fifteen years. It is great to hear these songs and be reminded of God's goodness. Thank you, Xander and Janis, for your faithfulness to do these songs. They are such a blessing to so many people!

  8. ❤️🥹🙏It's so beautiful, thank you, I needed to hear it. I want to share my testimony: I'm a former Muslim from Iran, who has been a born again Christian for about 3 years. I am 21 years old now, at the lowest point of my life at 17 and when I was even planning to commit suicide, I prayed for a long time to the God of Islam, Allah (who I now know is Satan) and other figures of Islam in general, just to heal my mental state, but nothing happened. One night (I think late January or February 2023) on YouTube, I was listening to a worship song (Oceans by Hillsong UNITED), which I didn't know was about Jesus, I just realized it was about God, and I had heard absolutely nothing about Jesus until then (except the nonsense that Muslims say.), and I knew nothing about Him. While listening to the music and singing along to parts of the song, I was just saying to myself how nice it would be if I could hug God and rest my head on his shoulder to calm me down. That night, like many other nights, I fell asleep from crying a lot. That night, I had a dream of Jesus, which would be too long to describe here, but he was walking in a beautiful river, a clear river like crystal, in a peaceful and beautiful nature, and suddenly he looked at me and gave me a very, very, very beautiful smile that cannot be described with earthly words. I saw the wounds of the nails of the cross in his hands and at that moment I realized that he was the same Jesus that I saw pictures and videos of his crucifixion, and the most beautiful thing was his eyes, which in no way can human and earthly descriptions describe the beauty of those eyes, his eyes were very, very beautiful and I was completely captivated by them. When I woke up, I was very surprised and crying, saying to myself, I think I just saw God, because several hours before, I had been whispering that I wished I could see and hug God, and at that moment I realized that the true God and creator of everything is Yeshua. And he gave me a peace I had never experienced, and my mental state slowly healed. I was that one lost sheep out of 99 and my shepherd saved me and I will forever belong to the true God Jesus Christ.
