I like the string ensembles and the viola. Bet I could re-record my piece for harp, flute and viola with it. Stuck in grad school for Fall and Spring. But hope to play around with it in November. I re-recorded my first symphony with Spitfire Symphony but need to spend more time with Ozone getting a good master. It will be interesting when this company has an entire orchestral product on hand. I bought the new VWinds model/sample hybrid clarinets the other day and toyed around with one of my clarinet pieces. Made it sound a lot better than my old recordings using early 2000's samples which a lot of my old YT vids suffer from (they were really just supposed to allow actual musicians what these pieces sounded like, and not be recordings in of themselves). Nice work Dreamtonics!

Constructive criticism: I was excited to check this out, but I'm not going to watch the video due to the aspect ratio. It's unpleasant to watch on a computer or phone. I know youtubers chase that cinematic look, but this ratio should be reserved for an actual movie.

Man, when it comes to AI instruments. I feel like the two main options are either ACE Studio which feels sketchy as hell, like, they say they ARE ethically sourcing their instruments but doesn't feel like it. And then there is Instrument X, which definitely I trust being ethically sourced, but also DAMN it also feels a bit overpriced… will stick with VST instruments for a bit more still I think.
For a v1 this is extremely impressive. I have high hopes it becomes like synth v studio where you can get some very realistic voices out of it.
These are caricatures that parody what they try to emulate. One day in the very distant future, there might be a time when virtual instruments can convincingly produce realistic facsimiles of the real thing.

this seems like a good start, but as many people are pointing out already, this is missing a LOT of instruments to cover the "core orchestral family", so the marketing probably shouldn't be billed that way (though it is), and it also is a bit disappointing that this launch is focusing on exclusively European orchestral instruments. also this aspect ratio is a nightmare LMAO.

Hey, why not provide a proper release or the recent beta update in Synth V before releasing a new product? I realize that there are those that are excited for this. And that's fine, but for me I didn't come to Dreamtonics looking for Orchestral instruments…I got Kontakt at home. i came here for the voices. And the singings. The la-las. So please give us that update you promised to have out by the 4th. And also… Hindi..I need that Hindi. Bollywood Jams is my jam
Flute trill's kinda funny, but every other instrument sounds so great!
This definitely still takes a lot of work but the potential is huge! Making realistic performances out of traditional sample libraries take tons of time, skill and manual tweaking. Most AI competitors on the other hand leave way too much control for the AI instead of really letting you be the composer and conductor with the power to affect every detail. This seems like it could be the best of both worlds.
the fact that we might be able to make entire songs with dreamtonics products alone (synth v for vocals and now this for instruments) is nuts. music's one hell of a gift

Although it sounds a bit artificial, I'm sure that in a few updates this tool will improve. So honestly the only reason it isn't bought and installed on my computer is the lack of percussion here. Because if I buy a comprehensive orchestra to me that's a must (along with a few more instruments, but I'm sure these will come later like Synth V voice banks). But hopefully you'll add a "percussion extension" soon and then I will add it to my purchase list 🙂

Wow. This is big news. Given that DreamTonics has done such a good job with human vocals (which is more difficult than even bowed string instruments), I can only imagine how much control the this will give composers for these orchestral instruments.

This kind of thing existed already on another competitor, I'm glad there's a competitor from Dreamtonics now for single purchase rather than subscription. I wanted to buy an expensive string library a while back but realized I didn't have enough space for it, so I was hoping for another one like this… Thank you 🙏

It’s definitely a step forward, and I’m sure we’ll see improvements over the next few months, since AI is advancing so quickly and these musical instruments could become much more convincing. For me, it’s a real pleasure to have instruments in SynthV that can play my music decently without having to rely on gigabytes of traditional instrumental samples.
I bet this technology will improve a lot in just a few months. I find the sounds more convincing than those in ACE Studio, and SynthV’s articulation palettes also seem very accessible and easy to use. They do need to improve the trills, though—they sound too much like a Theremin at the moment.
But without a doubt, I’ll be one of the users happy to pay for this technology, because SynthV has never let me down. It gives me confidence in the quality, backed by a solid and reliable company.
