As someone born in 2003 DBZ Kai is far superior, better pacing, better visuals with remastered animation and as someone who watched the dub, far far far better voice acting, especially if you compare Chris Sabat his voice acting between DBZ and DBZ Kai it’s clear!

I like z for some of the side stories but many of them seem iffy. The pacing of z is definitely worse than Kai though.

Also voice acting is both imo, buu and teen gohan for kai sounds so damnnn terrible imo, but DBZ Buu and gohan were perfect…….Perfect!! Also, vegeta has WAYYYYY more memorable lines in DBZ than kai that I prefer, and I grew up watching both versions.
Overall, both are great, kai is obviously better in terms of manga accurate and better pacing, but DBZ has more iconic moments that made us fall in love with it, plus it sets the tone right with that bruce ost kicking in at the right time. Kai also cuts/speeds up scenes they deem unnecessary, while Z gives us the full glory of the moment that you're watching
I'll say this, if u dont have crunchyroll, go with kai. If u do, watch Z. (And both animations are the same, with kai being a literal remaster of the 1989 version, so its gonna look a lil better than its OG counterpart)

I do perfer Stephanie gohan over Colleen especially if they gave her a more accurate script but other than that despite the things that I love about the English dub and the voice actors and stuff honestly prefer the Japanese dub The voice thing has always been more consistent and it’s pretty much at perfection at this point
