Some old houses have the ability to house people behind the walls. Maybe someone lives behind the walls in the closet. Glad the father moved out. If it was a ghost that has that level of power its usually a demon.

I had an imaginary friend. I was too small to remember it now but my ma says I wouldn’t even eat my meals if there wasn’t a place set for my friend too lol I’m super spiritually sensitive.. it makes sense that I was playing with some other worldly shit as a kid tbh

I once fell asleep on the bus, and woke up to the feeling of something tugging on my hair. I turned around and saw a strange woman with no teeth braiding my hair. She said nothing, just smiled at me and tried to continue.. I got off the bus. Not a ghost, just someone with a rough life I think, but still a pretty scary experience
I had an imaginary friend named Matt Matt. He went on a lot of planes apparently, as I’d point up to the sky and say that he was on a plane that was in view.
this reminded me of a social media post in 2019/2020, mum talking about how the "imaginary friend" of her daughter, "a little girl just like her", had the same name & description as her & her sister's, (the little girl's mum & aunt 's) "imaginary friend" from when they were the same age as her daughter is now … she thought it was such a coincidence that next time she talked to her sister she brought it up & told her & her sister freaked out because the exact same thing was happening with her 2 kids, a girl & a boy (boy younger), her little girl loved her but her son was terrified. the mum & aunt had never talked or discussed their "imaginary friend", since they themselves were children, they never told anyone else, they definitely did NOT tell their children … it escalated to the point where the OP, the mum, heard a sound iirc it was either a door opening / unlocking, a phone or doorbell ringing, & went downstairs to check when her daughter was having a bath, she came back upstairs & her daughter was struggling facedown in the bathtub, she saved her daughter & it scared her so bad, when she asked her what happened, she said it was her "imaginary friend" but they aren't friends anymore, that "she" ASKED her to see how long she could hold her breath for, then how long under water, that when she didn't want to do hold her breath underwater that "she" PUSHED her & then held her under … freaked me out sm. that's why you got to rebuke it in the name of Jesus, & then possibly move house.
Every woman's biggest dream is to have a ghost who fixes her hair overnight.

Can’t say for certain, but suspect imaginary friends are trauma responses/coping mechanisms for kids; especially isolated ones.

I live next to the cemetery and sure I heard scratches on my door while my cat was next to me or there’s weird noises coming from certain dark places but never had the ghost braided my hair 😂 fake stories.
