IRAOLA: “FLORIAN WIRTZ IS VERY GOOD, I TRUST HIM A LOT!” 🌟 Liverpool 2-2 Forest ⚽ Premier League

Post-match press conference with Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola after Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at Anfield.

Iraola reflects on Liverpool’s poor first half and stronger response after Alexander Isak and Víctor Muñoz twice brought them level following goals from Dan Ndoye and Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Liverpool boss responds to questions about Forest’s penalty, the delay in making planned substitutions before the quick throw-in and his side’s problems defending throw-ins.

Iraola also assesses Muñoz, Florian Wirtz and Cody Gakpo, provides an update on the reported Bradley Barcola deal and discusses the squad ahead of the transfer deadline.

  1. 5:41 He should learn from this, should've taken Frimpong off in that moment, cost us the penalty but not being in position. The other subs could wait but that one couldn't. Szobo RB from here on in

  2. I don’t know why – I have been a LFC supporter for 30 years and something feels off, disjointed. It didn’t feel this way last season (just the fans thinking it) or the season before that. I don’t know if Iraiola has the stones to manage this club, a bit too soft….I am just unsure at this stage but will support him. The same I supported Slot, never once wanted him out – I recognized the difficulty in making peace with the death of a player, unfair injuries etc. but here we are, the fans wanted Slot gone because he was too honest so now we have a manager that seems more honest and I won’t call for Andoni to be sacked but at what stage does the players, fans or the senior executives start taking responsibility.

  3. Using McAllister in a 6 position unsettles the side.Hes positioning is avarge passing is average once Liverpool brought in NYONI Liverpool were so much better balanced.

  4. I think a big problem with Liverpool atm, is their LB and RB's. We used to have Robertson and Trent Assisting so many goals for us and putting in so many quality crosses. Now, we hardly get anything from these 2. Then you got the LW and the RW, who waste so many opportunities with poor deliveries and options as well. And on top of all that, we still have no CDM.

How can our Sporting Directors spend so much money and still leave the team so short in many positions?

  5. Still conceding too easily, to slow – it's too difficult for the attackers like Munoz, Gakpo, Isak and Wirtz to create chances when the midfielders play in slow-motion …

  6. We have a mix of quality and performing players and those that cannot cut it. Wirtz, Gravenberch, Jacquet and Munoz all look very good. Gakpo all respect for his efforts, could play false 9 IMO. Desperately want to see Barcola in.

  7. Please look on this 2 rabbish prayers frimpong and kekez why you like this this prayers even Joe Gomez sell please doing nothing in this team please put Ronald on light back please this guy frimpong loan him and see another prayer Good for him not that rubbish frimpong look too much det poor pray?

  8. Players failing to keep possession of balls. losing balls easily to opponents. When moving they suddenly kick ball backwards n z others follow: z ball is back n forth giving time for oopnents tp orgaize their defense. Same mistakes as in z days of Slot. Ho headers. No real crosses, etc.
Liverpool has a lot of work to do. How wen a liverpool player goes forwards two or three opponents surround him n snatch z ball. That was characteristic with Slot. Why not place z players close enough to support each other? Defense still shaky. Alisson shouls stop rushing out impulsively . He conceded some important goals like zat last season
Not willing to hurt Alisson not good at penalty saves. If Liverpool is found in a situation where penalty kicks decide the outcome one can't trust Liverpool's Alisson. To my mind he is the worst goalie we have regarding that exercise. To my mind I have never seen Alison saving any penalty.
Other goalkeepers like Ray Clemence, Grobbelar, Dudek, Papi, etc have all been decisive penalty savers in crucial ties.

  9. Every professional who has played in England say the same thing, When they move to Liverpool ,. The Refs are suddenly very confusing in thier behavior's and decision's , compared to rest of my career in the Premier league
MacAllister literally posted once, we played 12 men a few weeks after playing for Liverpool
Howard "it was a clear penalty , but its Liverpool so i couldn't bring myself to give it" Webb and David Cootes, That's TWO incidents of Anti Liverpool expression by members and including the manager of the PGMOL TWOI
And the employees of the Premier league are also voicing a concern, Slot was always saying this is all very off and within two games Ireola is saying the same

  10. He looks really annoyed with the goals we conceded today … more like angry with players… i like this attitude he is here to win not to make players happy … so they have to play for him or leave the clib simple as it is

  11. 12. I knew this was going to happen. Slot was not the do,e problem but now that Iraola is the coach he needs support. How fickle can you get? So many spent last season declaring Asia they were the experts that’s,it had to go and after two draws, the first two games of the season and the same talk but different manager starts. Give the man a chance and stop the social media crap
