can you say ɪŋ? i can't say it, and when other people claim they're saying it, to me it sounds like iŋ.
The ih, for my ears, sounds closer to the closed e in Portuguese as in medo than the i as in isso in Portuguese which sounds closer to the longer ee version in English, yet many Brazilians still confuse the ih for ee.
