Which one is better? The one from the video or the 218h version? Or it's just the same?
Wearing a W-218 I bought a week ago, it's the daily wear watch. Gained +1 sec in 7 days, pretty impressive for a $22 Walmart buy. Haven't managed the 10 second challenge (best was 09:95).
Hopefully it's not dead, just tried to do a lume tape mod but when I took off the back foil it made the whole screen blank ?

Having both the f91w & w217h for long enough
The f91w is peak retro vibes and with a lil bit of top secret info if u know what i mean 😏
But having a watch collection of 7 watches and total 4 Casios one of em had to be the f91w
It feels great and just makes me feel “illegal”😂
Where as the w217h is a chunkier version of the f91w without its top secret info and has a better backlight
I love the negative display on the w217h as it stands out in my collection the gap inside the display does make the viewing angle bad but it’s not that bad over all f91w-10/10 & w217-9.5/10

The location of the light button is improved, but the start/stop button and split button in stopwatch or time adjust mode are now in the wrong place. They needed to keep the start/stop button on the right hand side instead of moving it to the top left. The light and the start/stop button needs to be the same button on the right hand side. 😂
I think the more likely reason the alarm could be louder is that they’re using a more powerful piezoelectric speaker. If you look at the case back after you removed it, it appears much larger than the speaker used in the F-105W, F-91W, et. al. I doubt the opportunity for reverberations is at play because there happens to be a module in the way. If anything, that would be like the equivalent of using a mute on a trumpet, basically blocking the sound hole from reverberating. Also, the CPU is on the other side of the motherboard. You need to remove it from the display to find any jumpers for possible modifications. Also, it's not waterproof. No watch is waterproof. Watches are only water RESISTANT. There is no such thing as a waterproof watch. The US Federal Trade Commission banned the term waterproof from appearing on any watch in the 1968s because it gave people the false impression that their watches could withstand rigorous expose to water when in fact they could not. Other countries soon followed suit.
Hi, I just bought an W217H and I'm wondering what's wrong with mine because the alarm on my watch is ridiculously small, I can barely hear anything, maybe just a small chime. Is it the speaker on my watch is faulty or is it something else? I got the original color one, it's genuine.

You've stopped too early with the dissassembling! The W800 has its chip and configuration solder pads on the other side of the main board (that is why it has so many connectors on top and bottom: those connect to the LCD display). So we still do not know if this watch is configurable or not. Otherwise great review, good style 🙂

I have both the F91 and the W217… I WANT to love and wear the F91, but the 217 is so much more legible and the right size. I love the F91 on my wife’s wrist, but for me, it just doesn’t look right ..
I have a casio W217H-1AV watch and I want to mod the negative display for it but I wonder that when normally the light will illuminate the numbers and letters but when modded to negative display the background will turn black and when the light is turned on the numbers and letters will not glow but instead its background will glow like a casio W217H-9AV, right?
😂When you decide to buy a casio f91w, you feel satisfied and will continue to use that watch. Do you feel enough? You are wrong, you will be trapped in a casio watch and buy another series.😅😂And buy another series again, again and again 😂

Great alternative, or “big brother” to the F-91W.
I modded mine with a stick on screen protector film and black metal band. I wish Casio used up some of that space to recess the glass into the case a bit so that screen protection doesn't sit as high. I'm in constant fear the corner of the film will snag on something and peel off.
I love these inexpensive Casio's. Don't care for G-Shock

A theory on why it's bigger. Before watching the video further I can guess it's the same reason why they made the NES and TG16 consoles unnecessarily larger than their Japanese counterparts… the belief people just want to buy stuff physically larger.
