A deadly incident at Six Flags Over Georgia has left one person dead and several others injured after a visitor fell from a roller coaster. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon at the amusement park. Officials have not officially confirmed the ride involved, but local media video showed passengers being evacuated from the “Goliath” roller coaster, an attraction that reaches speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.
Approximately 20 other riders were stranded mid-ride on the coaster before emergency crews evacuated the area. Multiple witnesses reported watching a man fall from the attraction and land in the nearby woods. Witnesses described the terrifying scene as it unfolded, with one rider sharing how shocking it was to experience an accident where someone did not make it home, while another detailed the fear of being stranded in the heat with no information.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity or the exact cause of death, and the conditions of those injured remain unknown. Six Flags stated it is offering support to affected guests and employees. Additionally, the park operator has temporarily closed nine roller coasters across six of its theme parks nationwide out of an abundance of caution while the investigation remains ongoing.
