Forgot to remove a rag in the air-box after changing air filter. Bike had idled OK but on first ride after change the rag got sucked down into the left throttle body butterfly and jammed it. This triggered;’ limp modes, yellow warning triangle, engine check warning on LCD and storing a “Throttle valve 2 (left) 21F9C3” trouble code in the engine ECU. Once rag was removed and fault cleared everything went back to normal.

this happened when the rag got sucked down from the airbox and jammed the left throttle butterfly…. motoscan app and an OBD reader showed t Fault code "21F9C3 Throttle Valve 2 (left) " in the engine ECU. …….bmwfault.codes website said to …Check wiring, wiring harness and plug connector to the throttle valve servomotor and throttle valve sensor….Check wiring harness plug connector to DME…Check throttle valve servomotor and throttle valve sensor….Check throttle valve with the ignition switch off for full adjustment range and freedom of movement…..Fault Impact….Emergency operation with greatly restricted vehicle dynamics (throttle valve in fixed position)…..Significantly reduced maximum engine speed…..Warnings…..Warning Lights Engine warning lamp on.
