*3D Printing Guide 3 – Understanding XY, Z & K screen resolution. What does it all mean?*
3D Resin printing… What does 2K, 4K, 6K etc mean? What is XY Resolution? How about Z measurements? What is PPI? How does any of this influence print quality and printer choice?
There’s a lot of question there covering what is a tricky and highly misunderstood subject – and yet it’s a critical one. So here I adopt my typical EASY, step by step approach to make understanding this topic much, much clearer.

Within I describe a Micron as being 1000th of a metre. It is in fact a millionth of a metre. Thanks to those eagle eyed viewers that spotted this 😁

Fantastic video, concise description of relevant topics.
I've been wondering about the "zee" pronunciation. It's weird hearing a Brit say it that way. Cheers from Canada!
Amazingly explained!
Absolutely accurate description , i have 2 printers Anycubic M3 "40 Microns" / Mono X2 "48 Microns" and I'm working on a head medical bust "big size" , the details on the same face which I divided into 2 parts on M3 is absolutely more crisp and sharper than the other side which I printed on Mono X2
Thanks!
Thanks!
Are you still planning a layer height video you mentioned in this video? These are super helpful, and I am getting up the nerve for a first print
Thanks!
Hello, I do not have access to 3d printer but I am interested in LCD screen for other application. Does it have multiple levels of grayscale? Do you know how much? Thanks!
So in other words to keep the high details in your prints ensure the screen res goes up with the size of the build plate printer you want to get. Bigger the build plate the higher res screen to go for.
Cool
Great series and easy to understand keep videos coming 🙂
Pitágoras for the win. Ahahah. I actually love trigonometry
Wish I had videos like these 2 years ago when I started on my 3D journey (?) and had to figure out all of this by myself, wasting a lot of money, time and effort. Congratulations vog. Keep going for the future printers-makers-whatever they're called.
hey do you think it would be possible to 3d print a injection mold then take that pla mold and cast it with aluminum and make a aluminum injection mold ? and if so please make a video on it
Keep 'em coming. I'm new to resin 3d printing and I'm loving this series.
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing 👍
NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXT
genialle toute c est explications et merci por tous ce travaille vraiment passionnant!!!! vivement la suite !!!!
yesss
Youtube should, when it sees that someone is interested in resin printer, just serve these videos, and after they watch them, serve others videos. I am very familiar with all of this, but this should be everyone's first video, thank you
You said a micron is one thousandth of a metre but it’s actually one millionth of a metre
This is a must-watch for anyone aspiring to get into resin printing. Cheers, mate!
Hey Geoff it’s been a while how you doing?
