I have so many health issues never did think that my gi issues could be part of being neurodivergent.
of course I struggle with anxiety. Sleep issues. Keratoconus. Hypertension.
Low lung function doctors newer could figure out why so often have shortness of breath which add to my anxiety and to not going out. Part of me feel it could partly be muscle issues and inflammation most food things seem to add to inflammation.
When it come to speech I have some issues took training to speak so people don’t notice I try to avoid longer words as they sometimes come out wrong.
Have to do with muscles. Many of my muscles are often tense.
Couldn’t pronounce s which was embarrassing and of course added to my anxiety as I don’t like to speak with.
Also since I’m 50 I can feel I usually start the day with negative energy which is frustrating since there’s things I wish I could but learned I have limits my young self could push trough them at times but not anymore.
Do you think there's a link between autism and lucid dreaming? I'd be interested to explore that. I can control my dreams even if there are perilous situations so I know I'll survive if the train goes over a cliff or the plane crashes. It's hard to explain but in the cliff scenario I'll end up being an observer even if I was initially on the train, I'm never injured.
I was born with nerve damage in my ears, most likely due to fetal alcohol syndrome. So many of my symptoms overlap with those that occur with autism. Wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think that I have both.
Holy god… I'm so autistic 😭😭
so you mean to tell me that it is possible to cure myself and that I have hope for finally being able to get up in the mornings without feeling like I'm going to die??? now I just need to figure out how to do it
😄😄😄
10:10 My circadian rhythm seems to be made for the other side of the world. Or for an owl. Because I start to feel tired the moment the sun goes up, but wide awake the moment the sun goes down, getting even just four hours of deep sleep during the days feels very restful, but no amount of sleep during the night ever makes me feel well rested.
Is psychological tension—the kind I experience in my neck and shoulders also associated with autism?
Restless legs?!! I talked about sleep issues said maybe what I think is restless legs is not. But Im a night walker I love night. Misdiagnosed depression lost years of my life to those meds. I heard years later of stuff I did I had no clue or memory of. It was like an alcoholic hearing about blackouts but it was 3 years. Stomach issues, headaches anxiety caused so many issues. I had to put my foot down No More Tests Ill figure it out myself. Every psychiatrist tried meds and increasinglu dangerous meds. Finally I wrote a paper to my primary dr explaining why I thought I might be ADD. It was not exactly correct but years later Audhd connected all the dots. Even the stuff I thought were odd quirks or unique to me…like the spoon fork thing. No

Every time I watch one of your videos it's positively uncanny how familiar all this is. I had to laugh (theoretically and internally) at the scene with the mountain of medical documentation – I have one (or seven) exactly like it. I've also been wondering for a while now how much of my fibromyalgia diagnosis is actually part of my AuDHD. Not to mention the IBS…
Thank you so much for making these great, albeit mildly disturbing, informative videos.
what about tension headache, i mean migraine like…
How do you get doctors to really listen to you? I'm struggling to get doctors in the US to listen I'm
I have ADHD and probably autism (only ADHD diagnosed) and have a buttload of issues. I had a long really bad issue with stomach issues, especially when going out and REALLY BAD when I had to drive. It was maddening figuring out why this was happening, nothing made sense. I went through so much of my life with an iron stomach, and suddenly I couldn't eat anything and was in the bathroom constantly, and acid reflux was a constant problem, and still is now. It started after getting sick after eating some sushi and having a 2 hour drive needing to stop over and over for the bathroom and then it happened again for no reason. Then again. Then it was always. It was something real for sure, but it took me a long time to accept that it was mostly in my head and anxiety. I had a bad experience and i was over it, but my anxiety said "no your not" and it just spiraled into a full blown anxiety issue. I had family I looked down on for having the same issues (regrettably) and suddenly I was the same. It was really hard to reconcile with myself and finally accept I had problems. Im glad im on anxiety meds now, I finally can start to feel better and maybe recover live again.
My POINT in this long message (lol) is the things discussed in this video are very real and valid, and this is how it was for me. Acceptance and going to get proper help is the first step to getting right with yourself. Don't make my mistakes.
My stepdad screamed in my face yesterday about "being sick all the time". I'm AuDHD. I'd get up an work if I could walk more than 20 steps without throwing up everywhere or sh*tting myself. Sorry I'm inconvenient for his made-up deadlines. I'm 40. It's such a complicated story. I think he's losing it. He's also super MAGA which DOES NOT help. He's convinced I'll just get over ADHD and autism. He's also convinced his cousins two trans sons will just grow out of it. He's a walking, talking moral injury.
i remember when i was depressed and some friends decided that what would heal me was a night out and i ended up going on freeze mode and basically non verbal the nex day and then they called me rude and ungrateful
this has been the best zoc doc ad omg
I was diagnosed with both in 1996-97 when I was 3. I think it was probably because my mum fought it. The problem was that I couldn't have Ritalin until I was 6. I was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder and IBS, but I have others, like pain when walking in my hips, and my legs feel like lead. Most of the doctors say it's to do with my weight (I'm Female and am overweight), but I have always had it since I was a child, and the theory that it's to do with my weight is bogus because I was a very active child who would be in pain after doing PE. I was diagnosed with Dyspraxia, as well. I was also diagnosed with Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder because I binge and/or starve, only eat certain foods etc. I have never been able to get to sleep and stay asleep, I sleep better in the day, which makes sense because I know I'm a night owl. I used to be on Melatonin, but it never really helped and everyone still thinks I should be able to sleep properly. I was also diagnosed with depression, but what people recommended, only made me feel more overwhelmed. I also have selective mutism. I think at this point I feel as though I'm collecting diagnoses, lol.
Eu detesto ser autista, eu estou esgotado aqui e já dormi bastante, não consigo resolver as coisas estão dando tudo errado!
Unfortunately I live a country/state that'll take away my rights and special interests and suggest medical assistance in dying if I get a clinical diagnosis for any of this. Who's the real problem in the room.
I struck out on that GI, migraine, sleep issue combo with hints of anxiety and depression, it's a fun life
the constantly dropping everything I try to pick up might be dyspraxia?? Cuz it's driven me to tears multiple times…
This… Gives me some things to think about..
6 put of 6! I win Autism lol
Some guy 2500 years ago said that all disease begins in the gut. What did ancient Greek medicine philosophers know back then? There's no way they could have better health insight than today given all of the technology we have. But the more we study it, the more we see the gut controls everything. It absorbs and assimilates what we eat. Many of your hormones, neurotransmitters, you name it are made there before they hit your bloodstream. Your gut is referred to as your "second brain". And it gets even more complicated when you consider the fact that your microbiome is responsible for making these nutrients. Cells not of human origin are there to benefit the human host. But pathogenic bacteria can always take hold and overpopulate. These will rob your nutrients and throw everything out of whack. I am of the opinion that changing the microbiome profile can alleviate a lot of autistic and associated symptoms. Don't be afraid to try a functional medicine practitioner who will study your microbiome and address imbalances. It might seem voodoo and unscientific, but I am having incremental success with it myself.
good ol' sleep problems 🥲the biggest scourge of my life. when i had a regular job and was not self employed yet and i got 6 hours of sleep, it was a realy good night. mostly i gol like about 4 hours. its like the minute i try to go to sleep, i feel every hair on my body and start to sweat and freeze at the same time and my brain goes to hyperactive mode if i dont watch some bs until my eyelids literally drop close :/
I’m 34 with autoimmune, and all of the things is me,But when I speak to ppl who know other with severe autism say “ someone who actually has it.”
I think when non divergent see I can hold eye contact, I didn’t realize I was forcing it . My brain is chiller when I don’t follow stupid social norms
I had 8 straight months of explosive diahhrea💩💩💩
It's a common joke among people with adhd how we keep walking into door frames and furniture. Like literally misjudging where the hole in the wall is – or rather misjudging where our body is.
I use bupropion (Voxra) for adhd and it has helped with my circadian rhythm and sleeping problems as well. Days now feel the length they're supposed to, 24h.
It's helped a lot with time perception in general. I'm not late so much anymore.
so… i check every single box…my social and toilet anxiety mean i spend 98% of my time in my flat. i've always been clumsy. i usually buy the same foods and extremely rarely try new foods. always picked and bit my fingers/nails. always mostly been a loner and the anxiety and depression really kicked in at 19 when my mum passed and further at 21 when my dog i got at 7 passed. always had sleep problems, have misophonia… i'm now at 36 in the process of being diagnosed.
9:26 Anyone else on here who feels that waking up is torture? It sometimes feels like physical pain to me.
ADHD, anxiety, stomach issues, sleep challenges, depression, motor challenges
Wow. ALL of them hit but number six was the biggest.
I love your videos, happy to have found my people online. Important content, good to know we are not alone with many issues.
Literally I started calling my chronic illnesses a collection when I had 10 of them & started getting terminal diagnoses! I've had multiple debilitating chronic symptoms since age 14, and anxiety is one of the biggest! Lately tho, the debilitating full-body nausea is literally killing me… 😮💨😭
Stomach issues lots – glad I don’t have a special partner as as soon as I am nervous my bladder & my gut just plays up big time ?! Feel so embarrassed
Never slept through a night since even just 6, 7 years old
Now I trouble with the sleeping tablet as my skin is itchy –
Just don’t stay or fall asleep 💤
Week ends I need often just ME TIME as socialising is so draining
Thank you Chris 🎉😊
No am happy by myself –
Getting better with motor issues as I do yoga 🧘 for 54 years lol 😂
Am 70 yearsold 😢
Ah yes, adhd decades before autism. Not decades for me but i got a trifecta: ADHD, Autism, and APD. Probably undiagnosed anxiety disorder or something. But I do have chronic depression and stress, so much fun
I believe that I am an autistic adult in Iowa, I need help, where do I start
I keep wondering why people want a diagnosis. I'm not trying to be dismissive. I'm thinking along the lines of 'autism isnt a terminal condition, what does it matter if i have it or not, i see my behaviors, whether i have autism or not, i now have a sense of what i can do and methods to help deal with it. So I'm honestly curious the reasons people have for wanting to know.
I have a question about the cubes we have, does it bother you that the cube isn't completely square? I love the cube but that is a bothersome fact lol
