The young adults in this roundtable are exceptional. Incredibly well informed, articulate and thoughtful. If these people are America’s future then it should be proud and question why it is happy for them to face a future of unemployment or low skilled menial labour
Centerist Christian man, I use Ai chat bot's frequently but I was the fed government to stop helping in the rollout of data centers and flock cameras. The Ai bubble that the stock market lives in have been normalized and We're still way out on a dangerous ledge with spending in AI at the neglection of other cuts, imo transportation, and fincial help for single mothers to bring there child to term and to help them continue to afford to raise thier baby. Transportation wise I'd like to see amtrak subsidized and double tracked, and expanded in my state. Anyway I'd be happy to elaborate if anyone wants more info on me as a Gen-z center christian.
I don't get in these discussions why AI is always alone on the table as THE problem, and not the economy/stock exchange. Wall Street is taken as a part of reality. These discussions often sounds to me like "vaccines and medicines (technology) will threaten the livelihoods of people that depend on the market of alternative medicine, placebos and bucket list experiences." – The premisse that societies were working well before AI is so weird to me. Hell yeah we need regulations! On power even more than on AI, because power uses the same exploits in other industries.

Saying the data centers have anything to do with phone apps is false, that it a narrative being spread to make people except the data centers once they become dependent on the apps. Those data centers don't have near the capacity to run every app and do what they are actually built for; which is data collection and tracking of humans, commerce, and communications.
The apps on phones largely use the hardware on the phone for processing the data, and the apps available to the consumer on phones are not true ai ( the "ai" label on apps is a marketing ploy). The apps simply access a library of predictive data run by an algorithm to find key matches related to the subject given and then it uses that data to search other website servers (servers that have already been there for websites) to match the subject and fill in the blanks using already available data.
Even if everyone stopped using every app labeled "ai", the data centers would still be built anyway because they are for tracking people 24/7, and for running the surveillance hardware for tracking everyone in real time everywhere you go no matter what it is you are doing. Again, the apps have nothing to do with the data centers.
The ai models tech companies are messing with are not available to public, in their full form anyway. The apps available to the public are no more than search engines with better information retrieval due to the predictive algorithms built into them.
Please correct anyone who is claiming the data centers have anything to do with phone apps; it's an entirely forced false narrative to force people to accept them as the new normal if they want to use the apps. Use the apps or don't, either way the data centers are being built and used to track everything about every human, and to control the surveillance equipment needed to do so, such as cameras, drones, and patrol robots. That has always been the plan for the data centers. They are not there for answering your questions or creating art through your phone.

Ehh, I think you guys are living in a make believe world. First of all, getting a software engineering job, has always been hard. How about you practice data structures and algorithms and build projects. I personally think there’s wayyyyyyy more opportunity now than before AI. Before it there were no opportunities unless you had wealthy parents and good school. We didn’t/don’t have that. AI isn’t the problem. I don’t even think it will cause the problem. How about you study and understand the systems that actually affect the country. Sorry if there’s some attitude but when I was 20 I wasn’t complaining about the unfair system I was working and learning how to get myself out it… I’m not sure what you were expecting to get out of America lol.

Man is absolutely too old to be president, too old to even be doing this, yet still fights the good fight. Not even running for anything but still in multiple videos or rallies every month, every week, etc.
I clicked on this thinking it was a Jubilee like thing (Bernie v a bunch of youngsters) and was pleasantly surprised to see a genuine, real interchange between intelligent individuals who pose legit, real-time experience questions and opinions. Loved it!
To create change, this generation of people need to vote – and some need to choose to serve in Congress and other leadership roles.
Don't just be dissatisfied – change it! Implement your ideas; wield your energy.

AI companies should have profit split to benefit all with limits on incomes for AI business leaders and owners. These businesses, for example, could fund universal healthcare. They should not be public companies but a portion of ownership should be the government to receive profit share like some European countries.
Dividends is a great idea, but in itself a catch-22. Who administers that? It will most likely fall on the Gov't to do it via some sort of tax, but the problem is Gov't is incapable of properly managing any sort of finance.
People used to use Google all the time – now you go to Google and AI's there and Google sucks now because they're feeding it to AI and wiping it from the web, so in the future, almost the whole web is AI. It's even here on YT now.
The rich will always want more money and control. Our biggest problem as a society is wrme continue to forget the past. Kings got rich to pont where they were eliminated. The same will happen to AI corporations and their billionaire owners.
Can any of these students define egalitarianism? Most democratic countries teach this concept to their citizens. When all have an equal opportunity in society. We have indoctrination, not education in the USA.
It makes one wonder what all of these people got PAID to hijack a graduation ceremony and make it about AI propaganda
Ai will not ever be a Net Good for society. It will definitely be a Net Good for someone, maybe several someones, but not society at large.
i don't understand the editing of this video. why did you edit it like this? man, it would have been far useful to just show the entire Bernie Sanders discussion than having that weird intro and abrupt cuts.

As long as scarcity and profit are the guiding principles of our cultures any possibility of a life enhancing technology, like AI, will be mired in ppl's inability to act for the betterment of humanity over their own profit.
Just like near the start where Bernie comes in, they describe their peers at school and other places as socially awkward, and it sucks a bit as you can hear the people here are all so intellectual but their voices show signs of hesitance and anxiety. Of course, they are on a panel, debate sort of event here with strangers and must be ready to have their voice broadcast online which adds extra pressure, but that confidence is lacking in so many of us nowadays thanks to the social disconnect we grew up with and evolved around.
AI is an incredibly powerful tool which can do a lot of good. And a lot of harm, depending on who and how will use it.
But knowing people and the society we live in today… The hopes are not that high
