I built a wall of beans in project zomboid

It’s been almost a full week since the apocalypse began and despite being asthmatic, short sighted, weak, sleepy, and generally spectacularly ill equipped for the end of the world…

I’M STILL HERE.

And I’ve decided that the key to long-term survival isn’t weapons, armour, or sensible decision making.

It’s beans.

  1. Hey, I would like to direct you to a channel on youtube called Two Wheeled Gaming
He has done 'random runs' with the intent to roleplay characters and has used Zomboid as a storytelling medium.
My personal favorite is his run of his character 'Jules Wade' and I think you'd love it too, but he currently has one going for another character named 'Emily Martin' in which he has a woman voice acting the character for entries while he narrates.
I believe you'd immensely enjoy the stories he tells through the medium of the game.

  2. I just love your Project Zomboid videos, made me subscribe!

Just tips to make your life easier based on your playthroughs:
    —————————————————–
    1.
Options → User Interface → Cursor Settings, then enable Melee Target Outline
Options → Display → Aim Outline, then select Any Weapon
    —————————————————–

    2.
While Right Clicking to aim at a Zombie you press Space while Right Clicking to actually shove Zombies, and not hit them…
And you can definitely stomp a lying Zombie even if you have a weapon on you
    —————————————————–

    3.
Just long press the E key to just go through windows
And only press E to open windows, you don't have to use right clicks for everything
    —————————————————–
    4.
DO NOT RUN! Until you ABSOLUTELY have to
    —————————————————–
    5.
Always have an escape plan from your base, in case it gets overrun, you can make sheet robe and attach it to your windows using a hammer and a nail for a quick escape…
    —————————————————–
    6.
Zombie corpses often have useful stuff,… Just loot more.
    —————————————————–

    7.
You can simply look for a digital watch, the alarm in them is much quieter,… Only use alarm clocks for distraction, if you want to lure zombies elsewhere…
    —————————————————–

    8.
Use alcohol to sterilize your rags and bandages…
Cut leather and denim clothes and use your sewing kit to make your clothes more protective…
Also, keep needle and thread with you in case of deep cuts…
    —————————————————–

    9.
Keep spare weapons on your back and belt for quick weapons switch in case one gets broken
    —————————————————–

    10.
When wanting to speed through some action "Like reading" click the stopwatch icon to automatically get you back to normal speed, do not just use the speed 4x icon
    —————————————————–

    11.
You can shift and click in your inventory to mark multiple items, and you can also ctrl+a and just drag whatever you want anywhere
    —————————————————–

    12.
You can press pause and search containers –> move items your want in your inventories –> and then click play … items will be moved immediately,… in case you don't want to just stand idle while some Zombie creeps up to you
    —————————————————–

    13.
DO NOT wash your clothes and just get outside while they are wet,… you might catch a cold, and start coughing and sneezing, that's an automatic Zombie attraction
    —————————————————–

    14.
Never leave your car keys in the ignition and leave the car,… your car battery WILL die
    —————————————————–

    15.
Always search boarded up houses, they might have some pretty good stuff
    —————————————————–

    16.
Find a saw and hammer to just get yourself a bed from any of the houses and transfer it to your base,… warning,… it's so heavy,… do not fight while carrying the bed in your pockets, I repeat, DO NOT FIGHT
    —————————————————–

    17.
You can always shove a closed door and wait to see if any Zombies are behind, they'll start shoving it back 🙂

  3. Friendly tip, as you seemed confused by zombies sometimes taking forever to kill it in both videos. Pay attention to the moodles in the upper right. Specifically out of breath (lungs) and drowsy/tired (sleepy face). Both give a 50% damage reduction, and they do stack. Those two moodles in particular are WAY more dangerous than most of the others and need to be regarded with a lot of caution.

And that's 50% reduction at tier 1, it goes 50% -> 80% -> 90% -> 95% and since BOTH apply it and stack, if you have both you might be hitting zombies for almost zero damage (This includes your chances of knocking them over. It will never be zero but can get very close to it). And this is doubly bad, because every time you swing you get MORE tired. So if you are out of breath, you now need to swing twice as many times to kill (50% reduction) and because you're swinging twice as much, you're losing stamina twice as fast and rapidly getting more out of breath, which nerfs your damage even more. It feeds into itself and spirals out of control.

That's what happened in this video and the previous one, those times when zombies took a very long time to kill. You had both and were hitting for almost zero damage. ^.^

Even just the tier 1 "out of breath" lungs moodle is very dangerous. Because that alone means you need to hit them twice as much to kill, costing twice as much endurance/stamina. Twice as much weapon durability. Twice as much muscle strain. Biggest tip I give to new players is to NEVER fight when the lungs or tired moodles are visible, if fighting can be avoided. If you have the lungs moodle you can sit down anywhere, even on the ground until you recover. (Note, don't get up immediately once the moodle vanishes. The lungs moodle appears when you're at 75% endurance, and disappears when you're above 76%. So if you stand right away when it disappears, you might only have 76-78% endurance and it'll come right back. Stay sitting a little extra.) If sitting on the ground, you can hold right click and still look around to ensure zombies aren't sneaking up on you.

    Good luck ^.^

  4. It makes you want to gouge your eyes out when you see that you're not wearing your glasses…
Just a tip. If you're fighting two zombies, it's a good idea to knock one to the ground, step on it (give it a little massage with your shoes), and then fight the other one. As long as you're standing on the zombie, it won't bite you or get back up.

    (btw. nice tattoo.)

  5. Welcome to the fold and 1993 Knox County, Kentucky!

If you check your items of clothing, anything that has a "hole" in it, has taken a zombie attack to protect you. Tailoring allows you to patch those holes, as well as add cloth/denim/leather patches to stuff for added protection. You'll start to see those holes appears on your character model!

I have also fallen in love with two Quality of Life mods:
"Item Condition Overlay (Build 42 Stable)" by KingEJ
"[B41][B42] Simple Status " by Star & Vagitus
I look forward to more Project Raven-oid!

  6. Приятно видеть более спокойный геймплей, разбавленный шутками. Особенно на контрасте с тем, что в российском сообществе PZ тебя считают бесполезным казуалом, если ты играешь не на Апокалипсисе.

  7. New sub here. Funny enough I just updated to this build 42 and I got the exact same start! Been alive for 2 weeks now, managed to get some keys to a few cars and vans and park them blocking the main entrance to my road. I use the shops as ways to move in and out of my apartments area. I even use the upstairs apartment where the arcade machines are as a storage/ secondary apartment and crafting area. The apartment across the hall is a storage/ crafting zone, took the arcades apart because of the noise and boarded up every window besides the living room, left a rope in it just in case of a need to escape. Im shocked how different the items are in your spawn compared to mine because I also crafted my character after me but I started his profession off as a Burglar, gets a skill to hotwire cars and less of a chance at braking a window if its locked. But my surprise is that my apartment started with a gun case in that computer desk, had a hunting rifle in it, and the bedroom closet had a small gun case with a pistol in it.

Oh and that alarm clock is a dinner bell, now if ya like getting bit thats ya thang then lol. But on the safe side I wouldnt use that alarm unless its to bait large groups away from something your trying to get to. But be careful because that large group can become a problem if you do it incorrectly, that large group will roam that area for a while sometimes, and that alone is a pain in the you know what, to get rid of. Find a digital watch on a zombie, you will get the time of day and the date and weather. Can tell if its hot or cold outside that can help you determine how to spend your days out there. The fact that this is your first time playing is amazing because im kind of in the same boat, only bought it 3 weeks ago.
