North of Dallas, towns like Frisco, Prosper and Celina became some of the fastest-growing suburbs in the US, fueled in part by corporate relocations and Indian-born workers with H-1B visas. But tech layoffs, higher visa costs, tighter immigration rules and AI disruption are now cooling demand in a housing market built around rapid growth.

The issue is not that 1 person get the Visa the issue and it’s not discussed here is THEY BRING A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THEM PARENTS (Relatives) and the numbers jump. It happens in the area where I live. You see them and their parents (example).
didnt know India was in Texas hahah
I feel sorry for the man with cancer who is having to sell his home in an emergency and in a tight market. And I say that as a Pakistani.
Life can be unfair and can turn around in an instant. That is a sad story. May God help him through this.
Now the housing prices will come down. Damn Trump is a genius.
This sounds like really great news!!! Can we do the same thing in Santa Clara, CA (ie, Silicon Valley)?
We need to train Americans to do these tech jobs. As far as health care and research I used to process visas at a university and they are needed for those industries
Worth it
Update: You do not have 60 days on H1B to find a new job anymore.
So what I’m hearing are that people actual American citizens need to move to Texas buy up a house therefore a cheap cost and work online for like a company in New York
Good!!!
Democrats flooded us with illegal aliens and paying for their cars, food, rents, and mortgages … WITH OUR MONEY !
Let them suffer…Americas downfall will be its racism and greed.
I think it is very telling that even the main profiled Imdian of this story came here as an “IT engineer” but mysteriously transitioned to a real estate agent. It tells me that this fraud has been going on for 25 years.
Trump did common sense
Yeah. Have your seen India? What do you think will happen if you bring India to the US
Houses for Americans is what matters 🇺🇸 deport the rest
America should hire Americans first.
The king of bankruptcy
now …China welcome highly talented ones H1 visa type ….
National policy should not be established just for the benefit of a few wealthy investors wanting to sell houses and hire cheap labor to undercut salaries.
We don’t need more towns by aliens, thank you. This is no longer an unsettled wilderness that needs the forests cut down. Traffic is bad enough. Go build your own country.
Just goes to show you why prices are going up. Every year we let more and more people into the country driving up demand for everything. Housing, food, medical, energy….
Good for young Americans who dont make google tesla money
A lot of these comments are ignorant. I am against companies excessively using H1B, but I've worked in big tech companies that hire a lot of H1B. I had coworkers who transferred over from the overseas satellite office of the same company. They do an internal interview, won the visa lottery and are able to transfer over. They are just as skilled as the software engineers in the US, yet within an even more competitive environment. If they weren't, they would quickly get PIPed or managed out. I saw plenty of them get PIP'd or disappear, the same as American workers. These big tech companies are not charities, it's literally the same cutthroat environment.
I am not in favor of visa abuse or taking jobs away from citizens, but these comments don't really know what they're talking about in terms of H1B in big tech specifically — the folks who can afford the 700k homes. Perhaps large IT consultant firms abused it or smaller companies are taking advantage. Additionally, the H1B Indian backlog is so long, that many simply will never get a greencard at this point.
But either these comments are ignorant, referring to specific use cases, or political bots.
Also, India has 1.47 billion people. Even if a small fraction of them are highly skilled, like 0.1%, that's like 1.47 million people. Just do the math.
Maybe is time for Corporate America to start hiring AND TRAIN THEIR OWN. Too many UNEMPLOYED COLLEGE STUDENTS.
Its very simple you pay 10 k for a visa and pay the sponsored 30k total cost 40 k for corporations american graduate straight out of uni 60k with experience 120k time for corporations to pay out real salaries not made India stuff
Stop ALL H1B Visas
Good
We need cheaper housing.
Houses are to big. How can they even clean it.
This is a bad example, this proofs that we were the problems for the price rise
Most of them work for bodyshops who run fake payrolls and keep people on bench, pay less than required salary
They allowed someone in the building with a confedeate flag? That is wild.
This impacts academia BIG time.
This is perfect for pricing, decrease demand on a already existing housing market will lower prices making housing more affordable for American families. The next move is to ban all foreign ownership of all land and property. Just like they do to us overseas. Make it reciprocal .
So Americans are already having thousands of more jobs and housing market is going down so beautifully now.
H1b people are temporary workers. They ought not purchase a house
Boo hoo. Cry me a river. Go home.
Good! They are stealing American jobs from Americans.
Good maybe Americans can finally afford housing
