► Galaxy Z Fold 8:
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a weird phone to judge because Samsung gives me plenty to complain about. No dedicated telephoto camera. No S Pen. Proper Flex Mode is basically gone. Some apps still have no idea what to do with the short cover screen. And this thing costs $1,900.
But that short, wide design is also what keeps pulling me back. Closed, it feels like a compact phone instead of another giant slab. Open it and the 7.6-inch display becomes a mini tablet for reading, gaming, PDFs, media and two-app multitasking.
I also get into the Galaxy Z Fold 8 camera performance, speaker layout, app scaling, Galaxy AI, hinge behavior, heat, 4,800 mAh battery, 45W wired charging, wireless charging alignment, IP48 protection and the FNTCASE cases I have been using with it.
The Fold 8 definitely is not perfect. The bigger question is whether this strange compact-phone-meets-tablet setup does enough to justify everything Samsung left out.

I missed my zfold 5 and decided to upgrade from the 24 ultra to the zfold8 ultra. Hoping the zfold wide gets more ultra settings in a few years

Not interested in the Apple fold, but I will skip the Z Fold 8 and hope they bring S-Pen support to the Z Fold 9, as long as it has the same form-factor as the Z Fold 8.
For the last 7 years samsung has had wireless power share on their galaxy phone's which means you can wirelessly charge other devices by placing those devices on the back of the samsung device. Its 2026 apple has nothing like that on any of their phones so why should samsung/android users be worried about a camera phone company with green bubbles and facetime lol.

You can hide the camera cutout. No big deal. The form factor is perf for a Magsafe case and Popsocket. No camera wobble.
