The Rash Spread From Her Neck to Her Forehead — A Doctor Runs the List #SkinRash

It started on her neck — then her collarbone, chin, jawline, both cheeks, and her forehead. Dr. Bayo walks through what doctors consider for a spreading red rash: ringworm, candida, seborrheic dermatitis (the one that often goes under the radar), bacterial skin infection, and contact dermatitis from something as simple as a new lotion or detergent. And the tip worth saving even if you never get a rash: if a specialist can’t see you for weeks and things are getting worse, call back, tell them it’s progressing, and ask to be put on the cancellation list. Appointments open up more often than you’d think.

A spreading rash deserves eyes on it sooner, not later 💛

  1. I thought it looked like a yeast infection. This may sound strange, but over the counter miconazole cream can help. The brand name is Monistat. The same medicine that you would use for a vaginal yeast infection. It also treats ringworm. If you aren’t able to get to the dermatologist sooner or if urgent care is not able to help, I would try Monistat cream. Best of luck to you! I hope you find relief soon.

  2. My son is a sweaty little boy and we deal with candida every now and then. Athlete's foot cream combined with frequent clothing changes and sleeping naked in cotton sheets so the sweating doesn't persist always clears up his skin folds in a few days
