Electronic Accelarator Pedal Repair – Astra H

#astrah #astrahpedal #electronicgaspedal
From time to time my Astra H throws out some accelarator pedal related errors. Same it did today, so I decided to finally open the accelarator pedal and inspect what’s happening inside.
Error codes were: P1120 and P1122.

  1. Cars were using a cable and it was life time why they have to come up with these sensors that are fragile and unreliable make the cars more complicated and more expensive.

  2. OK HE CLENED IT BUT WHAT WAS THE CAR PRBLEM DOING THIS DO I HAVE TO RESET IT AGAIN OR JUST PUT IT AND WILL IT WORK OR TAKE IT TO DEALER SO THEY CAN RESET IT AGAIN PLEASE REPLY THANKS

  3. Cleaning helps but does not solve. Clean and use a pencil 6B or 8B afterwards. The grease pencil will restore the contacts. ONLY these way you can fix FOREVER the problem. Is it possible that no one understands how these potentiometers really work?

  4. Contact cleaner, never rub your finger over the resistive track like that, the acid/oils in your fingers will now wear that part even faster than before. spray contact cleaner on both the pins and the strips, and wipe gently with a lint-free cloth. Also, mark where the screws are in the casing before removing the screws, otherwise, you will need to make sure you can retrain the pedal. most cars have a retrain mode activated via odbII, if you don't retrain and you don't screw it back in exactly the same position as before then the resting position will have a slightly higher or lower resistance than before.
