He bought the ticket after knowing it was a winner!!! Not his ticket!!!! Circle K is the owner. Overprinted lottery tickets belong to the store by lottery rules. He needs to be charged with theft!!!

The ticket is good for 6 months. Beyond that, the ticket expires. I think that's the reason the ex-manager went and got the lawyer.

Absolutely not his. He didn’t purchase it before the drawing. At the time of drawing, that ticket belonged to the store. A two dollar lottery ticket is $2 because you don’t know if it will win. When this manager purchased the ticket it had a $12.8M value. If he was a manager, he wasn’t working in the interest of the company that was paying him to look after their interest. Not his!

Circle K wants a judge to decide who the rightful owner is? The person who paid for the ticket is the righful owner and the manager is the one who paid for the ticket!

The store ended up short $25 that night. The moment the night shift paperwork was closed with a shortage,is the moment Circle k owned that loss which is the unvoided tickets. You can’t just show up the next day and try reconcile the numbers by deceiving the system put in a place.

It seems to me, he purchased the ticket, knowing what the numbers were? That gave him an extra hedge he would not have purchased them if they were not already printed, and he could see what the numbers were. So because the lottery ticket wasn’t voided, he was able to purchase it. The point of the lottery is you don’t know the numbers unless you have him pick the numbers or have them randomly printed & pay for them. So he gave himself permission to buy the ticket. He already knew was the winner which any other customer would not have been able to do. So if I were the judge, I would say he did not legally acquire the ticket despite or in favor of what circle K says. And who clocks out minutes into their shift so just to do something shifty?
