When I was at my lowest. Smoking, drinking, breaking our fathers commandments. I knew deep down I didn't want to keep going but I couldn't stop, at least not on my own. I knew my only way out was praying every night. Even in sin, praying, having faith he would give me the strength to finally one day wake and say enough. Alone and when everybody saw me or at least the closest people to me, saw me as Gross. That I couldn't change, that I would never leave behind my sins I was committing. Even so, I prayed, I had faith in our heavenly father that he knew my heart, that he loved me and that I wanted to let go of all that and come back home to him. One day so it was, I woke up and said enough. God is slow to listen, but oh he always listens, and answers. Today I'm back at church. I am now married to that same woman who said I couldn't change, that same woman who said would never believe or join his church, that same woman I baptized and now soon will be sealed up to me and our 2 sons for eternity. Brothers, sisters. Pray always, pray when you are happy, pray when you are always sad. Pray. Please. Don't think ever he can't or doesn't hear you. Never think he won't answer your prayers. I KNOW HE ALWAYS does and will. I know. I bare testimony of it, in the name of our savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
Thank you for your powerful testimony, President Eyring! Even when the world offers no peace, we can have the peace that our Savior, Jesus Christ, offers (John 14:27).
Henry B. Eyring thank you for your glorious talk my lil brother trying to serve his mission like his older brother I’m so grateful for the opportunity to come to the church of god
Blessed are ye if ye shall give heed unto the words of these twelve whom I have chosen from among you to minister unto you, and to be your servants.." 3 Nephi 12:1
What a timely message from a living Apostle of Jesus Christ. Humble, heart-felt prayer is our most immediate and direct link to God, His peace, comfort, joy, and truth. We would all do well to pray always, constantly having our hearts turned towards God. What a different that can make in the world, for each of us.

President Eyring, I listened to this talk again this morning. One of my prayers was answered during General Conference when I listened to you. I smile again when you tell about your wife's funeral. I can imagine the joy you felt knowing she was happy and that you will have a joyous reunion.
