A group of state lawmakers are planning on introducing legislation that would relax the rules on purchasing gun suppressors and short-barreled shotguns and rifles.
The co-sponsorship memo was put out by State Senator Judy Ward (R-Blair) after a federal judge invalidated key parts of the National Firearms Act of 1934.
Under the NFA, gun owners were required to pay a $200 tax to buy and register suppressors and short-barreled rifles. However, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act reduced that tax down to $0, which triggered a lawsuit in Texas. The Fifth Circuit judge ruled that Congress could no longer impose the registration requirements after zeroing out the tax for it.

It's funny, in some European countries suppressors are REQUIRED to use a firearm outdoors so that people nearby are not subjected to the increased noise pollution. Also, this guy in the video knows nothing about 3d printing. Unless you have a $200k+ industrial SLS 3D printer, and all of the knowledge, space, and bits and bobs needed to run one, you aren't printing anything resembling a functional suppressor… And at that point its cheaper just to make one out of stuff you can buy at home depot.

There are thousands of gun laws that are used against model citizens with no history of crime or intent on breaking a law, meanwhile, these thousands of laws are broken by career criminals to purposely harm others, then a liberal judge feels bad for them and lets them off easy to repeat their crimes again.

The judge didn't invalidate rules congress did when they passed the big beautiful bill that included getting rid of the tax stamp. More miss info from incompetent at best and always lying to us media.
Folks, stop thinking the NFA will go away. The SCOTUS will either refuse to hear the case, so the last ruling will stand.
Now if they hear the case (NFA still ruled unconstitutional ) they'll hear it, and Chief Justice Roberts will give us another soup sandwich like "Rahimi" turned into.
Roberts left so many holes antigun forces can drive not just a truck, but a whole FLEET of trucks through them.
The Congress had the bill right, the original "Big Beautiful Biĺl" had the "Short Act" in it.
All Short Barreled Rifle and Shotgun registrations would go away.
The SBR/SBS was from the ORIGINAL bill of the NFA. All Handguns woukd be NFA registered too.
The SBR/SBS was to STOP the naking of "Illegal Handguns". The bill was facing too much opposition, and was going to fail passing.
They took out handguns. They keft the SBR/SBS there. To stop making "Illegal Handguns".
As we know, handguns never became "Illegal" under Federal law.
No one in the antigun movement had ANY arguments that SBR/SBS should remain Illegal, it never crossed their minds.
WTF does the Senate do? They stripped out the "Short Act", and tried to make suppressors legal.
There has been EIGHTY YEARS of suppressor propaganda on TV and in movies.
So THAT fails too. Their brilliant "compromise" was to drop the NFA tax to zero.
All you did was when Congress/Senate fall imto Democrat hands, get ready for $10K transfer taxes.
Our supposed "friends" screwed us royally. They pounted out SBR/SBS to antigunners, which wasn't on their radar at all.
So they sabotaged the "Short Act", antigunners didn't have 8 decades of propaganda to rely on.
So instead they make this Kabuki theater, of trying to make suppressors "legal" when they knew "Everytown" and the Giffords people a new subject to try and ban.
All the heavy Blue states will catch on, and NFA weapons in those states are toast.

The SNR/SBS was toast. Then they screed us, put up a bill (I forget its name now.) to legalize suppressors.
They alerted EVERY single Democrat and antigun group (Everytown, Giffords, whatever the Brady folks call themselves this month.) to the subject of SBR/SBS.
They should of stuck with the "Short Act" and make the transfer of suppressors zero dollars.
A few years of free suppressors and folks would see they don't make handguns as quiet as a (Manual) desk stapler. or a rifle like a blow dart gun.

If your state (like mine) doesn't have registration and you are a goa member, yes you can make your can and slap it right on. It's a 4473 transfer now, means a form1 to make it. But in states with no registration a form 1 is not needed to make a pistol therefore not needed for a can now. In ND you can no license conceal carry an unregistered p80 you made with no form1 100% legally. 😂

That's bc it was never illegal to own those items, it was only illegal to own them without paying the tax stamps and license them. It's like saying you can't own a dog until you buy a dog registration but the registration is $10,000 and takes a bunch of hoops to jump thru. The item is legal, so as long as they say you're paid up on your dues..

Every time someone says Pennsylvania can’t get more unconstitutional Pennsylvania says hold my beer. What is wrong with selling suppressors without tax stamps? All it does is save hunters and shooters ears. Short barrel rifles are no more dangerous than regular rifles. In fact, they are way less dangerous. They don’t have the range or velocity that a standard rifle does. A standard rifle is way more dangerous than a short barrel rifle.
