10,000 kilometres from Singapore. One studio in Brussels. One word at the end: shine.
In this episode of our Interview Series we sit down with B-Astre in her own studio in Belgium — pianist, voice, experimental pop, Inner Circle ally. We flew there after featuring her song Toi on Hidden Gems. No invoice. No ask in return. Just the grind behind the beautiful person and professional musician.
In this conversation we dive into:
🎹 Recording Toi live before she knew the software — stacked voices, live percussion, and Pierre in the pocket
✨ “Shine by yourself” — take the good from hard years, accept the darkness, finish even a sad song with a smile
🎭 Two currents: French / jazz / poetry / theatrical shows, and a raw electro side (Blue Viral)
💛 A lovely fan family across countries, and why real rooms still matter when arts money is cut
If you have ever wondered who is behind Toi, this is the sit-down.
