Today, I’m in Cambodia, about 12 kilometers from the Vietnamese border, preparing for another rice-loading trip. What should be a normal working day turns into a journey filled with uncertainty, because the rice harvest is almost over.
The trader tells me this could be my final trip of the season. I may have to stop working for nearly a month, while the loan for my boat is still waiting to be paid. With heavy monthly interest, this unexpected break puts a lot of pressure on my life.
Four trucks arrive with rice, and Vietnamese workers help with the loading. But the work doesn’t go smoothly. Some rice is rejected because of poor quality, deliveries are delayed, and the boat may not be filled as planned.
Along the way, I also meet a Cambodian woman collecting recyclable bottles. Her difficult life makes me think about how everyone is struggling in their own way.
Even when the future feels uncertain, I have no choice but to keep moving forward and search for new loads to keep my boat working.

This trip means a lot to us because it may be our last rice shipment in Cambodia for this season. 🌾🚢
We came here hoping we would still have several more trips ahead of us, but the rice harvest in this area is ending much sooner than we expected. After this trip, we may have to wait almost a month before the next harvest begins and we can find rice to transport again.
Honestly, we are feeling very sad and worried. We had hoped to keep working for a while longer, but everything has suddenly come to an end. We don’t know exactly what the next month will bring or when we will be able to find another load.
What worries us most is the boat we bought with borrowed money. This is our boat, but we still have a large debt to pay. Every month, we have to pay around 14 million VND in interest, whether the boat is working or not.
When there are loads to carry, we can keep working, earn money, and slowly move forward. But when the boat has to stop, the debt and interest payments don’t stop with it.
Today, our boat couldn’t even be fully loaded because some of the rice didn’t meet the required quality. Watching the rice supply slowly disappear made us realize that this season really may be coming to an end.
We are honestly very worried about the days ahead. We still have many expenses to take care of, and we don’t know where the next load will come from. Having to wait almost a month without knowing when we can work again is a heavy pressure for us.
But we cannot give up.
We will keep looking for other cargo to transport and try our best to keep our boat working. We hope we can get through this difficult period and continue moving forward.
This boat carries more than just rice. It carries our hopes, our responsibilities, our debt, and the future we are working so hard to build.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to watch our videos and follow our life on the river. Your comments, encouragement, and support truly mean a lot to us. ❤️🙏
She’s so beautiful.

From🇮🇩Apsen..😊
the bugs in the rice she cooked…yikes even washing it the eggs are still there….
i will be cleaning my rice 4 times before cooking from now on……
what a nice lady….
You will be successful!🎉 strong 💪
What an inefficient way of loading. Someone needs to build a hopper so the trucks can start unloading before the boat docks then continue unloading as the boat loads.
Dude put his smoke out right on the grain trough! Egads!
Thought the thumbnail was a RC boat🤔🤷♂️nice job though 🫶🤓
🤞Lidt hjælp til at opretholde dit lån. Held og lykke fra Danmark
How much Tons are putting on that ship?
You are so cute girl
Great job … everything, everything will be fine !!!
I have a load if you need one. I know it's a long boat ride to get here but I got one for ya.
Great❤
Please add some subtitles.
Ti seguo dall'Italia , ti faccio i miei migliori auguri … che bella barca pulita❤
I understand that this is your source of income, and I truly appreciate the effort you put into it. If there’s a chance for you to secure another load, I hope it comes through soon. Your hard work deserves to be rewarded, and I’m rooting for your success!
Hello, is this your boat? I'm new; I'm just going to subscribe because this looks interesting. looks like a great job 🙂
She's cute!
0:02: Running on a flat tire, the inside tire needs to be fixed. Let me get my service truck out lol.
Here is a question. Why don’t you transport bagged rice in your boat, instead of opening the bags then conveying the bulk rice to the boat. You are double handling requiring more labour.
She has a funny little voice
Oi NangHai, boa noite. Eu sou Angelo e amo todos vocês vietnamitas. Falo aqui do Brasil 🇧🇷🇻🇳🇧🇷🇻🇳🇧🇷🇻🇳🇧🇷🇻🇳
