  2. Utter crap. Piano black plastics. Wheel arch condoms. And all the crap which come with new cars, which ruin any new car. Dinging and spying.

  3. I struggle between appreciating what this car is and remembering what "hot hatch" meant to me. Light weight, manual and a fizzy petrol engine. I still demanded INVOLVEMENT ☺️

  4. i had the previous shape and drove it to Berlin, gave me terrible back ache….never again. That dash layout is still a terrible idea, nobody else makes you look over the steering wheel because it's a stupid idea

  5. Having owned an original first gen 205GTi I'll bet my House against One Euro that the 208's steering is just designed more for parking it with one finger than road feel…
Also that all the crap things are gone… I remember at the first service, after ?3 months, when I complained of clunking when breaking they said (i) the front suspension hadn't been properly tightened when manufactured and (ii) that wasn't covered by the warranty so I'd have to pay to fix it…
The old one is a better drug than anything that has even been available… the new one will have dreadful steering and no soul…

  6. Had the 208 gti by PS and it was a brill car… think this one took far too long to come out tho with the newer model due round the corner.

Think the fact the batteries havent been upgraded and their is not petrol variant lets the car down

  7. When it comes to thouroughness and detail Autogefühl is king. When it comes to actually testing how a car drives and reviewing its dynamics Autogefühl feels like it is for the elderly and the sleepy people.
Come on Thomas 😀 We know you are German and thus you have a thing with rules. But throw the little lion through some actual corners and kick its tail to make it growling mad. I dare you. We see too little of that in Autogefühl reviews 😉

  8. …so a Hyundai N product, SUV/Hatch. embraces EV technology and showed the world you can have an EV "sports car" that drives like the old ICE "sports cars".

…yet Peugeot…to experience the "Hot hatch" side of this new little Hatchback, you have to basically turn OFF all the new EV goodies. And even then, it doesn't sound as good to drive as the original 205GTI, its just far too heavy and ungainly. blunt not sharp in its responses. And by the sounds of it, overdamped. Another missed opportunity by Peugeot, I'm afraid.

  9. I am a petrol head. In my collection I have my very dear car i30N.

Ordered e-208 GTi in Black colour. Expected delivery in February 2027. Most probably test driving on November 2026. This is the first time I have ever ordered any car without test drive. I was so impressed with the interior and that made me order the car. I hope it brings me the same smile as i30N. Some how I have the feelings it will behave like i30N without engine sounds. 👍

  10. Great car (imo) I just wish they called it a Le Mans edition or a 2X8, rather than 208 GTi. GTi is for petrol not electric.
It looks great though and it sounds like it’s a blast to drive.

    For an EV 😉

  11. Pretty cool to see some coverage on the Peugeot… funny in high school, i got a used 1980 505….. and it was definitely a car that no one in my area of New Mexico had never seen lol. There were so many electrical problems, but it drove really well in the desert. Lol

  12. I recently had the base model ev while my car was in the garage for a few days. It was a pleasant surprise in terms of driving, especially around town, I love the tiny Peugeot steering wheel and driver display position, personally. You really feel the fact it's not a ground up EV though, the infotainment is pretty crap and good lord, the gloss black! The ridge in the floor and redundant 'transmission' tunnel feel silly when you've got used to something made as an EV from the wheels up.

This one is cool, but really who are cars like this and the Abarths for? It must be a tiny market for cars like this. I love EVs but they lack drama and the price/range equation is way off. Bad choice of main car for most people and a very hard sell as a second 'funmobile' compared to a used petrol hatch or even something like an MX5. Perhaps a good used buy in a couple years?

  13. Peugeot should be ashamed of this electric toaster with GTi badges. Absolutely nothing in common with the 205 GTi. Comical what is going on in the automotive world these days.
