How cold is the world’s coldest stuff? Eric Cornell describes how he created the world’s first Bose-Einstein condensate, with a temperature measuring just a few billionths of a degree, or a few nanokelvins, above absolute zero. To put this temperature in perspective, room temperature is around 300 degrees Kelvin, water freezes at 273 degrees Kelvin, and helium turns from a gas into a liquid at 4 degrees Kelvin. The Bose-Einstein condensate was much colder than that, by a factor of more than a million!
World’s Coldest Stuff: Nobel Prize Winner Explains Bose-Einstein Condensate:
Among the world’s largest science centers, the Museum of Science engages millions of people each year to the wonders of science and technology through interactive exhibitions, digital programs, giant screen productions, and preK – 12 EiE® STEM curricula through the William and Charlotte Bloomberg Science Education Center. Established in 1830, the Museum is home to such iconic experiences as the Theater of Electricity, the Charles Hayden Planetarium, and the Mugar Omni Theater. Around the world, the Museum is known for digital experiences such as Mission: Mars on Roblox, and traveling exhibitions such as the Science Behind Pixar. Learn more at

My ex girlfriend’s heart is 0 kelvin.
Cool
Cold even GOLD
Germany hit 38 pickolkelvin
You can only get so cold 🥶, but heat has no limit.😮🎉
How?
At that temp, even the perturbation of fields prevents cooling. Virtual particles warm your sample. The central black hole of Andromeda warms your sample.
In similar terms, the friction of nearby atoms warms your sample. Absolute zero is beyond our reach until we can figure out "warp bubbles" or the ability to isolate a sample from the effects of the universe.
Really surprising, I can only assume that this man is deliberately dumbing down for tha audience. You do not say ‘degrees Kelvin' it’s simply Kelvin. So room temperature is x degrees centigrade or Fahrenheit but is x Kelvin.
How do you measure temperature accurately to a billionth of a degree?
It's pronounced just "Kelvin" (as in "273 K") not "degrees Kelvin" .. Mr. Nobel Prize in Physics winner.
I've been in the micro-kelvin lab at the University of Florida, it's pretty neat being near one of the coolest places in this Universe. The temperature measured was almost as cold as I am!
So meaningless. Give glory to God and not scientists! God operates in the impossible but scientists observe possible. And worse yet, they have no clue how to apply what they observe, meaning they lack understanding. Instead they use complex words that only few can follow and brainwashes people into thinking that science explains it all. It doesn't even help the hard working people in their daily lives. Fruitless work
Cold even😅
"Thats so cool! 🤓 "
"Cold, even 😎 "
This Dr is a Rizzician
😮😮😮😮😮
There are no degrees Kelvin. There are Kelvins.
I don't need a man who keeps his rooms that hot to teach me what's cold
That’s so cool. Cold , even 🤣🤣🤣
What happened to his neck?
Is he missing an arm? Also it looks like he has a noose scar on his neck
Energetic waves cannot travel in a void *space. Truth does not change. Science only changes. Change is death.

Wifes feet are about a nanokelvin warm.
300K is way too hot for room temperature. Make it 290K, I don't want to melt.
Eric Cornell lost his left arm and shoulder due to a severe infection in 2004. He was able to recover and return to work part-time within a few months. He is right-handed.
❤❤
That's so cool, cold even. 😂😂😂
"Cold even"😂❤
How'd you even measure nanokelvin?
thats in Fahrenheit, Celcius or Kelvin?
I don't care if you're measuring in the nanokelvin, I'm still wearing shorts
So how do you get something that cold? WHAT?
My boy smooooth
Waw magaling mag explent sir
Cold even….boom.
you might wanna start changing your ways… or changing your name
solid helium would be pretty cool. . .
"Cold even" 😂💀
How about putting it in units non scientists would know..
kelvins aren't degrees!
