I Asked Claude Cowork to Make Me $5k

I gave Claude Cowork one job: help me make $5,000 in 7 days. Make money with AI, regardless of your background. Join 3,000+ members 👉

Instead of using Claude just to answer questions, I used Claude Cowork to build a real AI service for local businesses, create a business dashboard, research potential clients, build a Dream 100, write personalized cold emails, prepare for sales calls, and turn the service into recurring revenue.

The AI service is a live business dashboard that brings together the numbers a business owner normally has scattered across payroll, bookings, advertising, invoices, expenses, and other systems.

In this video, you’ll see how Claude Cowork can help with both sides of an AI consulting business: building the solution and finding the businesses that will actually pay for it.

  1. Good idea but how do you justify the price to a potential client when it’s more work to scrape all the data from the different sources themselves and also why would a company trust you with that sort of information?

  2. Thanks for making this video. How do we go about sharing the artifacts/tools that we build using Claude with the clients when we present to business owners our AI automation service idea?

  3. so in following along with this – when we send the initial email, asking if they want us to send it over, once they reply yes we are going to send the demo we have had cowork create for us to show them what is possible – is this accurate?

  4. Excellent presentation and proof of concept. It also is innovative in that it stands head over shoulders among other channels that rehash tired old ideas that have become mainstream and hence the market becomes super saturated by extension.

  5. Are clients likely to send such confidential info? Enjoyed hearing the process thank you. Funny i just did a fictitious onboarding dashboard for hiring candidates and new hire onboarding do think it may be applicable like this?

What do you think is the biggest use case for onboarding? Thanks.

  6. It is unclear to me why anyone would pay $5,250 (2500 + (250 x 11)) for something that they could pay $20/month and could do this themselves without transmitting their companies most treasured and confidential data to a shared drive.

    – How to you get past the price objection?
    – Where in the dashboard are you providing $5,000+ in savings to justify the expense?
    – doesn’t the owner now have a new monthly task to correlate this data from the 6 different sources to provide it to you?
    – what happens if the owner makes a mistake in generating the exports?

What about a modification to the business plan that runs locally inside the business on a secured Raspberry PI that costs under $300.

You set up a dedicated subscription to Claude, have Claude build a basic web interface that lets the owner directly connect to the data sources and it runs automatically, daily, weekly, monthly. They control their data, you sell them on the continued use of your hardware / servicing, if they stop paying you pickup the hardware and your format the disk of all their data in their presence so they know you aren’t walking out the door with their private information?

I don’t think the idea is bad, just not fully thought out for an environment of data breaches.

  7. You showed that the vibe prospecting skill gave you what it could scrape from the internet, but realistically it didn’t seem to provide viable emails. Website and social media accounts, yes. But owner emails, not so much. Seems you have the generic info or contact us email from their website. That still may work, but it’s not typically tied to the business owner’s email inbox. So are you using DMs on IG too? Calling directly and asking for an owner’s email? We know most employees may not provide that.

  8. "put a one-line-disclaimer" and that saves your butt … hahhaha…. great line … so you want people who are not even familiar with accounting, fp&a and finances to advise people who actually RUN a business and then be "oh wait i had no clue that Claude did not include this or that in that dashboard" so it's not my fault you made a wrong business decision :-)))) good luck with that …

few questions to the "experts" posting these kind of videos … how do you ensure audit trails, checks and balances of the numbers sitting behind the dashboard you are selling, how do you ensure the pdf or fotos of the bills were read correctly by claude (meaning – is the NUMBER really that same on the actual receipt and in the dashboard …), who is accountable when business makes bad decisions based on your bad dashboard numbers … etc. have fun 😉 *and NO i am NOT telling that you cannot do this with Claude – i do it myself BUT – not just like this – with no accounting or finance background )

  9. This is great! I’m in the Skool community and I love this specific idea for helping small businesses. Will you be sharing any more details on how to proceed with this? Thanks

  10. In what world does any business owner give someone they do not know any of their financial records? Payroll? Nope. P&L? Nope. Ad spend? Not a chance. The only one making any money off this plan is the content creator making ad rev and possibly gaining Skool members by putting this crap out.

  11. This is great. Definitely interested in trying this. I do wonder: would businesses have an issue with putting any of their banking, payroll, and booking information into AI? I'm not sure I would feel comfortable handing my bank statements to AI, let alone the information in payroll and booking files. Just wondering if anyone in your community has tried this strategy and if they have experienced pushback from their customers. If so, how did they combat it? How do you address the security of this information? Not trying to be a "Debbie Downer" on this idea. I actually like it! I'm just an overthinker and want to understand what's really at stake before jumping in. Also, this depends on the client being diligent about dropping their information into the shared drive every month. That could turn out into a lot of babysitting. Could there be a way to automate the gathering of all this information without client participation? Otherwise, you've just given the business owner another task to do every month.

  12. Hi Lindsay, thanks for the tutorial, it was fantastic. When the dashboard is built, do we just produce a one time snap shot per month or does it become a live dashboard which updates in real time. Does it need to be hosted on a web page? Is it a programme they download?

  13. I currently have the latest version of Claude however I don’t see an option for a coworker. There’s only an option for chat within Claude after I investigated a little bit. It seems as though chat is combined with coworker so is there a way to change it where there is an option from chat to coworker?

  14. I just found your video by accident — good stuff. My question is: how do I use these things when I'm an expert at nothing? It feels strange to offer a service around stuff I know nothing about, or anything really, for that matter. How do I find the confidence, or build in redundancy, to know what the AI says is accurate?

  15. One live dashboard for payroll, bookings and ad spend is something a local owner would happily pay for every month. Which type of business would you pitch first?

  16. Thank God for you, Lindsay. You make me feel like I might actually be able to pull this off. Thank you so much for the high value content you continually share. It is very appreciated. Happy fall & blessings to you and yours!
