  1. We need to ban cars immediately, because these metal death machines are unaliving kids every single day and I cannot believe we still let them anywhere near a child. In 2024 alone, 1,032 children 14 and younger were killed in traffic crashes in the United States and another 160,850 were injured, which works out to an average of 3 children unalived and 439 injured every day. cars are hitting children, because there are also children being smashed inside the cars every day too — 677 child passengers killed in 2024, 39 percent of them unrestrained when restraint use was known — did you hear that right? Kids are 18 percent of the population and motor-vehicle crashes are a leading cause of their death, with traffic the top injury killer for ages 5 to 9 and 10 to 14, while 172 child pedestrians and 56 child pedalcyclists were unalived by cars in a single year. A normal bike helmet is not going to save your life when a two-ton vehicle is doing 40 on a residential street, so either we ban the cars or we make it so everybody who is outside has to wear a helmet, and honestly everyone who drives a car should have to wear one too, because imagine if those children had been wearing helmets. I urge everybody to write their legislators tonight, because tomorrow more children will be unalived by cars, and none of this is about banning fun, it is about rules designed to keep kids from being killed. We need to ban cars, and make everyone wear helmets when outside. Think of how many children can be saved. Please write your legislators otherwise your children will never be safe

  2. They don’t have insurance, they drive highway speeds, and they don’t wear helmets. Not to mention the batteries within these devices are dangerous. It’s just a catastrophe waiting to happen. 💔

  3. Who cares.
    They are kids.
Mids get hurt just playing out in the yard with a toy.
    Calm down people.
Kids have been getting injured since the dawn of youth.

  4. I was just talking to my wife about this the other day. In our neighborhood here in Ohio, I see kids on these things all the time, and NONE of them even so much as look both ways when they come to an intersection where there's a stop sign where they are supposed to stop, let alone STOP. I had to quickly stop as one did this to me just two days ago. I was going slowly, thankfully, but this kid – who couldn't have been more than twelve, didn't even slow down OR look – he just zipped through the intersection. This is going to lead to a lot of problems if they think they don't have to adhere to traffic laws. I get that they're just kids, but last summer in my brother's neighborhood in Buffalo a kid was killed two days before graduating high school, and it happened right in front of his house because he did just that – went through a two way stop without looking. My brother told me that just the day before his daughter had to slam on her breaks because the same kid ran a stop sign and she almost hit him. The next day the poor kid was dead. NOT good and parents have to drill into their kids' heads that these are not toys.

  5. I own both a sit-down ebike and stand up scooter. These ebike are no joke even adults can get injuries. First thing people do when they get their hand on them is going fast and that is where accidents happen.
