Using the name,Karen, as an insulting slur (“speaking to the manager”) was surprising and hurtful coming from you. You are a professional communicator and just helped to propagate a mean insult to millions of women named Karen, me included.
Our name has been used to describe and demean the worst personality traits almost imaginable. I am aware of women named Karen who have even changed their given birth name due to the derogatory reference. If your name was used this way, how would you feel?
