The WarDogs $100K Prize Was for Players, Not Big Streamers

On September 4, the day after the FPS Games Show, Joe Brammer says the $100K clip contest isn’t a competition where they pick big streamers who make great content and hand them $100,000. The money comes out of their marketing budget, about $300,000, and they chose to spend it on the players instead of paying the press or a big showcase; they haven’t paid any influencers. Howard Philpott says it’s about seeing the community’s clips, and the fun of the idea that one of you could win.

  1. i agree and love the ideology. but the #1 clip was prolly the worst clip of all of the clips in the video you released. lol still got my respect tho. best game ever

  2. Dont matter if you lile the game or not these guys run an entertainment buisness the right way, just seeming to care is a massive difference in a world where its all MINE MINE GIMME,

Im surprised more streamers aint more like this with brand deals… give a % as a prize ehat u lose upfront u gain more from new people coming in after hearing u give 5k (example) away a month

Spending marketing on your customers crazy concept right 😂

  3. Yeah I knew thats why they gave it to #1 not #2. Content farming isnt a clip! Glad it went to a normal player not a big time streamer. That said it could've been a better clip.

  4. Firstly i just want to say I really enjoyed this game till the reset I understand the reasons why to balance the exploits players was using and it gives newer players a chance the only problem I see is that people who dont have jobs and dont have other responsibilities are level 60 already and been dominating the lobbies I've seen players unlocked tanks already and players havent got a way to counter them and players are using the BMR already as well and winning every gun fight which I get in as I havent got the time to spend the hours to unlock the play style I like to play.

  5. I feel this was made to my comment on their original post for the 100k. Like I said before the issue I see is they have the same people who have 2 to 3 clips when imo I think it's unfair to give people 2 3 spots instead of leaving that spot for someone else

  6. I agree that it shouldnt go to the biggest streamer, but the problem is that, the feat produced by the person wasn't anything special at all, zero luck involved. I am not saying "take the money away" you should give it to the guy regardless at this point, but there was clips in the 50's and 60's that were significantly better than other clips. Not all of them were from massive streamers too, actually most of them weren't.

  7. The only problem with “one of you could win” is it seems like you guys gave the prize money to someone undeserving and to someone that could be your Devs Friend. 😢 Shady stuff BulkHead

  8. First I think it was too much money could've split it between a top 5 second the first clip is some kind of money laundering situation else I can't comprehend how #2 didn't win

  9. While I fully agree with this strategy, avoiding big streamer content creators in favor of average Joe candid moments, the #1 spot was taken by the most mid level play even among average joes…

  10. Did I think the #1 clip was the best? No. Did it have to be the best? No. It’s just about having fun, clipping funny moments and the devs decided what they liked best.

  11. The number 1 clip was just honestly not even close to first place material. I was expecting something amazing, but a random heli roadkill? I’ve died to that several times… however, the clip like John Wardogs, jumping out of a heli to no scope sniper shot the pilot of another? That’s wildly impressive.

  12. I never had this much fun in a multiplayer game like wardogs, such a great game and so much fun to talk with new people and make unforgetable memories with you guys GG

  13. I really wish I got a clip of it. I had practiced with the Recurve bow for hours, hitting the reactive shooting target on the tracks in the Shooting Range, and then matching distances and hitting the reactive dummy standing on the truck from the far end of the tracks. Learning the hold over for 300, 400, 500, up to 800 meters. If I can see the pixel, I can hit it. First match after all that, I beaned a guy on top of a tower straight in the head with an arrow at 670 meters. Was so happy with that. I'm going to be practicing again when Season 2 drops to see if it's still viable! However, I understand it's not really reasonable to expect arrows to one hit kill people through armor beyond 500m. Also, the point of aim with the bow is just to the right of the green dot on the sight pin when you get out to 300+ meters.

  14. contrary to some people's belief i thought the #1 clip was one of the best. a barrel roll SAM dodge into a 100+ meters kill by jumping out of a heli and letting the heli headshot somebody.
