This is what happens when you have volunteer coaches who scout little kids for sports.
When I was at Peoria HS it was the coach telling you to meet the Steroids guy. Then dangling a U Of A recruiter at you. Decade later he was arrested for fraud. His associates remained. He inflated the town. It was only Peoria and Ironwood before Clapp got here. The town grew because they had to launder the booster gambling money.
