Im still torn i like the vibrancy of the z fold but iPhone photos were still better……. I want the iPhone camera on the z fold 😢….

Actually some country iphone models do very dull processing of photos, like this one(Austria), honk kong varient, and may be others, but you can get the usa and indian varient they show good colors💕💕

Although you've taken pictures at their default settings, the main advantage iPhone had is their camera defaults at 24 MP while Fold 8 defaults at 12 MP. Switching the Fold 8 to 24 MP would've been a fair comparison.

The iPhone is definitely the better camera, but I'm very impressed how close the Fold 8 comes to the iPhone – especially when it comes to 2x/3x/5x zooms (considering it doesn't have a telephoto). Beyond 5x the Fold 8 falls apart, but I find I very rarely zoom past 5x anyway if I am trying to take a nice picture. Also, how impressive is that battery life? I thought for sure the iPhone 17 Pro Max would blow the Fold 8 out of the water when it comes to battery.
I've really been considering getting the Fold 8, but my big holdup has come from taking a step back in camera quality. I am glad to see that might not actually be an issue at all. Samsung did a fantastic job with the Fold 8 cameras.
I mean u should’ve compared z fold 8 to Iphone 17 not the pro but even then the 17 would still have a way better peformance

Waiting until the iPhone ultra (fold iPhone) is announced in September. Then I’ll decide if I’m staying with Apple or going to the z fold 8. I really would hate to not have all my Apple apps and data

What a nonsensical comparison
Just a heads up for everyone watching this comparison: the creator seems to be testing the Galaxy Z Fold 8 using the default 12MP camera setting, whereas the iPhone 17 Pro Max defaults to 24MP. Because of this, the comparison might not be entirely fair regarding image detail and sharpness. If you own a Fold, you can manually switch the camera to its full 50MP mode to get much better results than what is shown here!
You shoot in 12 MEGA PIXELS on the fold 8! you need to change it to 50 MEGA PIXELS!!

This has been incredibly helpful as I am extremely tempted to upgrade to zfold 8 but I currently have S25 Ultra. The camera setup was a big concern going from SU25 but the Z Fold photos look good.

Thank you for a very nice review. At 2:27 you mentioned more background blur for the 17 pro max, "which is nice". Quite honestly, as a matter of personal taste I prefer less background blur. To me the Z fold 8 looked better for this photo. At 2:08, you are completely right about the high quality 5X digital zoom image of the z fold 8. It looked better than the 17 pro max. The zoomed videos looked better, of course on, the 17 pro max. Again, lots of it is a matter of personal taste and at the end of the video, I agree with you that the photos and battery life of the z fold 8 is very acceptable.
