My best guess why Chad Williams went on a shooting spree was emerging schizophrenia. It presents itself in males in their later teens or early 20's. He seemed normal to the people who knew him a few years ago but with schizophrenia things can quickly change. It seems he believed the hallucinations he could have been experiencing to be real. This is just a guess but its a pattern that is common with this mental illness.
