When I was kidnapped, it was nothing like this. I was kidnapped in the front passenger seat without restraint – but how was I going to escape? I knew I didn’t have enough time to try to exit at a red light. He would have seen me try to escape and pull me back in. It was so hard. We even drove past the police but what good would have banging on the windows have done? The police lightly wouldn’t have understood what I meant and I knew I had a higher chance of getting killed if it appeared like I was trying to escape. I had no phone to call. He would have seen me call too. The reason I survived is because I was complicit with demands and acted like I wasn’t going to try to escape. But one piece of advice I did follow was paying attention to what we were driving past and road names.
