Want to power a mini PC with Power Over Ethernet (POE)? No problem!
*Note: Be sure to check your device for the appropriate voltage and wattage. As with all power adapters, using something that isn’t intended for your device can break your device, switch, or both!*

is it 5v?9v?12v? what about amps? 0.5A?1A?
Getting ready to use POE to usb power adapters to simplify getting power to Wyze cameras in our warehouse area
in out in out shake it all about
Ok Cisco!
so A. get a poe switch that’s managed or find another poe solution
B. unplug the ethernet and plug it back in? (how does that differ from just unplugging the power cable???
Somehow you have described this awesome feature in a way that made me not to want to use it 🫡 and I use it fairly actively 😭
Brand/model?
You can also power cycle the port or deactivate the port on the unifi switch, instead of unpluging it
So, to stop you having to unplug something over and over you came up with a solution that requires you to either plug and unplug over and over or log into a device. Genius life hack dude….
1+1=1 ahh
They're great, I agree. However your complaint at the start of the video was unplugging and replugging the device, yet at the end of the video you're happy to unplug and replug the device… 😂
I have 3. I had to buy power bricks for my Pis theses are not rated with enough power for pis 4 and 5. These are meant for cameras.
I made once, a switch 2 barrel plug, soldered on top so i can switch off, or a contactor to do the job with other devices. not smart stuff but doable with one button.
That's dooope
Cool
Hello, I am going to have to give this video two thumbs down, I tried to power my refrigerator with POE and it didn’t work. Epic fail.
I’ve used these even just for power on devices that don’t have an ethernet port
Like being back on the ship. Its about time I started home labbing now
You didn’t mention that there’s 3 types of power over internet. POE, POE+, and POE++.
He tried to sound like NetworkChuck but without the emotion
hey, what types of ethernet cables you use?
Quick call pro IT too see
Can someone explain what the purpose of this is?I'm just confused
I am not in network operations, but I work with them a lot. I have heard that when ports are "admin down" for a long time (months or years), they will often never work again. So I would be cautious of disabling a switch port for too long! Your mileage may vary!
so you'd rather unplug the ethernet cable than unplug the AC adapter?? makes no fkn sense bruh 🤣
Idk why I never thought of using PoE this way! Going to buy some of those devices now.
From Poe you will get 36-53 v ..Then how is it possible to run 12v devices
The last part is really confusing
who tf is Poe
😅
I have three or four of these on my dream machine. I even have one that power is my main ISP modem from the dream machine.
Bro some are 5v some 12v .. like this how to select the voltage
gotta watch the wattage. not all power injection is equal
I must have missed something. How is unplugging and plugging the RJ45 better than unplugging/plugging the barrel plug to power cycle?
What!?!?!?!?? I never knew
WHAT A ENGLISH YOU ARE SPEAKING.
no way i have same one damn i bought it 3 month ago and i didnt saw enyone using one of them
I just discovered these last week.
Very cool I love the fact that Poe allows for power control through a graphical user interface in the management consol. Also nice single board sever I’ve heard good things about Zima board.
