Another problem with Maria’s triangle was that it shouldn’t actually be choking Leon, unless she’s got really strong thighs. And even then, Maria would only tire her legs out with improper technique (granted, if I remember the movie correctly, she is infected with some sort of virus, so she’s stronger than most people).
In order to get a deep triangle choke, you want to bring your foot to the back of your knee, squeeze, and push your opponent’s head into their arm, causing the neck/throat to be pushed into their bicep. And in Leon’s position, the best defence is to try and either avoid getting into the position to have his head controlled, or to at least move his arm around her leg.
That said, her loser grip does make transitioning into armbar fairly easy, but a good Jiu-Jitsu fighter can do it pretty quickly from a botched Triangle.
If u gonna slam in that position would be better to hit their head on the edge of the table instead of their back
In all fairness, Leon has taken attack that would have done more damage than what's bring discussed here and walked away without any issues. I doubt Maria would've actually been able to break his arm.

I get you guys are looking at this from a martial arts point of view. And I get it, but if we look at this from a power scaling perspective, it shifts a lot. Leon has survived some absurd shit in the resident evil franchise things that would kill a normal human. I honestly think a broken arm is just another tuesday to him. Probably would barely inconvenience him. He'd probably just pop it right back into the place and keep fighting

Equally, Leon could've done better against her in that moment.
Instead of slamming her wholly down on that Console, he could've walked a step back and slam the back of her head on the corner of the console, ending the fight IMMEDIATLY.

fun fact the reason she didn't do that is leons luck he pays a toll to a demon for luck so people end up slightly dumber around him the price is doing unnecessary things like twirling a gun to give away or doing backflips this is why he always makes it out on top

If i was to guess, maybe Leon was either waiting for it or was moving too much to move her legs, likely waiting for the slackness to get her off him
