not sure about Africa's ability to develop independently, corruption is very strong there, and Africa is unlike any other place, it's still very tribalistic and extremely diverse with a plethora of ethnic, religious and linguistic groups, it's a nightmare to govern especially with the current borders, they should be redrawn to respect all the nits and grits of african society.
Great video. I do notice tho that even the guy in the explainer clip you use describes an export based economy as "necessary to raise a country out of poverty." But we know where the poverty came from: an export based economy. Make it make sense. Accepting this logic is an implicit insult to the civilization that was colonized. As if only in relationship to the empires (whether han chinese or anglo imperialist or other) can it have prosperity.
The history and the current evidence simply do not support this. Burkina Faso is pointing the way.
