The proper way to use baking soda in a front load washing machine as a deodorizer is to put it in a shaker. After a load of laundry, when the machine is wet, sprinkle baking soda on all the rubber. Spread it about with your fingers and leave it. The next time you do a load of laundry, it will wash down the baking soda along with the odors.

What about if you have a top-load washing machine🤔?
Don’t keep it with clothes, it will make you itch!
So just to clarify, after it’s done washing a load, I take out my clothes and put them in the dryer. Before I go to do the next load, I take the shaker and mix in some baking soda, sprinkle it around the rubber part of my front loader, and put the next load into the washer WITH THE BAKING SODA STILL IN THERE??
Basically what I’m asking is do I have to run the washer just for the baking soda or just leave it in there with the next load of clothes?
Thank you for this tip! I try to wipe it down but it can be pretty annoying to get into those crevices. Will the baking powder leave any residue on the clothes if it's on a cold wash?
I wish this could be me but I bring my canister vacuum to every job. I will not use customer vacuums, I want my lightweight precision tool with me, not whatever heavy/clunky upright the client has. I'd rather take an extra trip bringing my vacuum in than fight with the client vacuum the entire job.
