Steve McQueen had Faye Dunaway. Pierce Brosnan had Rene Russo. When I heard of an upcoming remake with Michael, my very first thought was who would be his leading lady and how awesome she gotta be. I haven’t seen it, just watched the trailer and now wondering why is co-lead, she’s…what, Hispanic? and why not Black. They didn’t put an Asian with McQueen or Brosnan to mix it up. If we’re to believe Thomas Crown can be Black in 2026 way not his co-lead as well. Go all the way with it. I’m a cinema hoe still, I may not run to see it as I thought I would. I’ll stroll.

As a grown adult, I never imagined that I could ever have a hero (especially someone in the mainstream), but this man is truly inspiring and I'm so proud of him. There's no one in entertainment quite like him: he acts, directs, produces, writes, is an entrepreneur, a brand ambassador and a great role model for his community. MBJ is not a monolith, he embodies class, prestige, leads by example and redefines what's possible when you strive for excellence and pursue your dreams. I can't wait to see this film next year, and MBJ I'm so proud of you and all of your success, you are officially my hero.
Y'all know its okay to just make new stories and characters right? You don't have to just black everything. MBJ is an incredible actor. A brilliant mind, why not give him something creative to work with instead of just making something that wasn't black now black for him. That's the height of racism right there. Don't give the black guy something new and original just put him in something that's already been done and pat him on the back.

To be fair. It is to early to rate Jordan as a fit to play Thomas Crown. However, just by the trailer alone. This appears to be a disaster in the making.
Yes, the trailer was horrible. The whole image was off.
I will have to see the movie in full. But I can only see Jordan, being another Will Smith, who ruined a favorite Television Western classic of Robert Conrad Wild Wild West.

TCA was never a huge action flick. Zero punches thrown. It was all about suave. It's all about that debonair flair. It's all about that staircase scene.
So I don't know about this. MBJ is fine, but this trailer is just bad. I doubt there's a way to climb up stairs elegantly unless you are Tom Hiddleston or Daniel Craig.
