Every year, tens of thousands of wild animals get moved across the world for conservation.
Argentina has only 200 to 250 jaguars left, split into small, isolated groups. This shrinks their gene pool, and over generations, raises the risk of disease and can eventually wipe out a population entirely.
That’s why in our 42nd mission, we partnered with Rewilding Argentina to move Mimbi, a young female jaguar, across Argentina, to a region where introducing new genes is critical to saving the local jaguar population from inbreeding and extinction.
This translocation is part of a bigger plan: connecting isolated jaguar populations by creating a safe, continuous corridor in the South American region, so jaguars can move and mix on their own again.

This is interesting an important, but the whole clock dynamic makes your video seem to have a false sense of urgency. It wasn't needed and detracted from the good work of what your organization would normally do. I was really disappointed in the false urgency of this video.

None expert here. I was thinking that moving a single jaguar is not the equivalent of building a continent-wide wildlife corridor.. Isn't is quite at stretch to call it that. I see the benefit of mixing up the local genepools, but calling it that seems a little overexaggerated I think. Love your super important work anyway and non the less though 🙂 .

This is good. You said that it felt wrong for a Jaguar to be in a box and a plane. That is always my thought. Too many people trying to play Mother Nature, but I am not complaining about this cat being relocated.
As I said it is good when done right. The one thing that bothers me is the size of the gps collars that are put on the cats. Surely with today's technology, something smaller could be made to work. I cannot believe that the large collars don't impede the hunting abilities of the cats. They may catch or harm their prey with their claws, but they kill with their jaws, most especially the jaguar, who has the strongest bite of all the cats.

Ah yes, the human animal….the most dangerous and destructive animal in existence that has hunted and poached and taken away wildlife habitat for decades and their karmic payback will be a horror show. But these wonderful people and all heart centered people will make it through the 2030 worldwide complete reset. I am so glad that beautiful jaguar wasn't sedated too. I hope this project is very successful.
