  1. Can you at least compare it to regular non motorized bicycle and scooter accidents from all the down hill MTB trail riders and ɓmx race track riders and bike/scooter stunt competitors that are admitted to hosptials ERs for injuries and death to get A REAL IDEA OF HOW LOW THE NUMBERS ARE STILL TO CLASSIFY AS EPIDEMIC

  2. Everyone should just stay inside. And never take any risks. I don't even know why I drive to work. I might get in an accident and die.😂Way more people die on motorcycles and its not an epidemic.

  3. This data does not even come close to representing an epidemic. Being burnt alive is more likely. Accidents on the other hand, will have to follow in numbers proportionally to the increase in users. The real conclusion would require a comparison of the alternative the e-bikes are replacing (regular bikes for instance). Logic says that since there are multiple categories of new electrified transportation these days, the entire category is likely to be conflated to the worst possible scenario: e-motorcycles. Furthermore, it is likely that e-bikes and e-scooters are more dangerous than their counterparts simply because of speed increases and proficiency decreases, however the gap between the two may not be statistically significant enough to warrant using the “safety card” when the obvious end goal for this argument is to remove very very effective modes of transportation for an entire class of people who may not have had access to it before.

  4. You wouldn't ride a motorcycle if you can't ride a bike. So why do people ride an E bike when they have Zero concept of 2 wheeled transport dynamics. Aka. know how to ride a peddle bike.

  5. I hate stories like this.

Seriously, I don't want to see anyone hurt.

    But come on

That hospital serves over a million people just in King County.
252 out of that many people is not that bad. Think how cool it would be if there was under ONE traffic accident per day. Or only 252 dwi tickets per year.

Nope, in today's messed up world we need to ban everything that might even cause a scratch.

  6. Yes. E-bikes are basically electric motorcycles, they’re going 30-35 on a walking trail or sidewalk next to pedestrians, rarely giving any warning when approaching from behind, and young kids are driving them on the streets. How we don’t hear more about tragic accidents is beyond me.

  7. My question is are they hitting themselves into a wall of are cars hitting them? Do we just need better bike lines and safety. Cause honestly the epidemic is cars, and it started 100 years ago thanks to GM and the US government highway system.😊
