How Becky G’s Favorite LA Street Fills Her With Mexican Pride | Architectural Digest

To celebrate the city of Los Angeles in the wake of last year’s devastating fires, AD asked a group of iconic Angelenos to share their favorite local places. This is Becky G’s love letter to LA. The singer and actress joins AD on Olvera Street, the historic birthplace of Los Angeles. Born and raised in Inglewood, Becky reflects on how being Chicana shapes her identity and pride, and how Placita Olvera keeps her connected to her Mexican heritage while grounding her in the heart of LA.

  1. She looks like a fake Barbie doll. focus more on skills, intelligence, and being a morally upstanding person. Ditch the backwards victim culture that lacks respect for humans.

  2. I remember going to olvera st a lot as a kid in the late 90s. There were way more people back then walking olvera st especially on weekends. I have not been back in many years but plan to go this summer to check it out!

  3. Becky G has been representing 200% the Latino community since she got started. Never played games, never pretended to be something else, never hidden her true identity. I’m very proud of her for being and representing who she is!

  4. That looks like such a beautiful place! A complete gem 💎! I ived in LA in the past, and had no idea this place existed!!! Never heard of it before! If I ever go back, I will def try & visit! 💕
