We’re building a chicken coop from scratch on our 100 year old stone farmhouse, and this homestead project turned into a full off grid build. From cutting rafters and notching birdmouths, to insulation, rendering, and tiling the roof, this is weeks of work condensed into one video.

An amazing looking chicken coop. I like the staggered brick look for all of it. The diagonal tiles may look a bit busy. A warm colour on the walls!
Well done
Light sage for kitchen walls.
What a chicken coop! Better teach those chickens to say, 'hooray for Simon!' 😂😂😂 They will live in luxury. I especially like that it fits in so nicely with the rest of the buildings❤
Such a nice coop! I don’t understand your vision for the tiles, so complicated . Sure it will turn out nice with Simon installing it
Choose neutral colors… you will be glad you did.
I like the white. Is it not traditional?
Your chickens house is looking great it looks posh Simon does a great job for your walls sage green i have got it in my kitchen and I lv it ❤ xxx
Light sage green
I love the idea of the emerald green zellige tiles!
Drill through the wall and take the cable through the inside as the cable won’t be seen maybe. Great chicken house .
Cool video..😊
You and Simon work well together. The chickens will be very happy with their home. As for your floor tile, go with what you love. If that is the green tile as an accent it will look so nice. Also herringbone.
Muito lindo dear amigos
You can name it
"The Chicken Walldorf Hotel"
It's all looking great and at a very exciting stage! Don't know if you watch 'The Newbies' but they place colourful portugese/morocan tiles in walls, flooring etc. It's really unusual and looks great. I was thinking that would look great on the rise of your steps in the main room. They did that in the round stone house they built in Zimbabwe recently. Def worth having a look.
My thoughts exactly on the herringbone. Defs would look fabulous and be in sync with the other tiles.
pourquoi vous n'utilisez pas les si beaux carreaux portugais ? les azulejos
The craftsmanship of your chicken coop is better than some people's houses 😊
Luv the idea of the accent tile. I would suggest dry lay more of the varander pattern plus the inside diamond design so you can get a better idea. ❤😊
With all that insulation I think you’ll end up with a flock of fried chickens, they don’t need that.
💯👌
Yo soy aragonés, la cerámica de Muel tiene miles de años. Es una de las mejores del mundo.
White with ochre is give the wall an orange hue that should complement the walls.
❤❤
I favor a golden yellow for the walls – something that looks like the sun glowing on a white wall. Soft and subtle. A soft green would be beautiful, too, especially if your accent tires are green. I'm looking forward to the floor going in!
PS: yes to the herringbone! (but maybe single tiles instead of stacked?)
How about a sage or light terra cotta color on your walls? 😊
Are you sure the chickens are going to fit through that little opening 😂😂 cuz there are some fat chickens 🐓 out there 😂😂
I agree with you white is too harsh a contrast. Pale sage green would work with your stones in the lounge. Also the kitchen accent wall could be a darker sage green. My personal opinion😊
Yes 👍 a warm beige would be nice 😊 cuz everyone uses white. Finally someone who likes color nothing drastic just a little warm light color to make your home feel more cozy ❤ the chicken coop is looking 👀 amazing 😻 great 👍 work Simon you’re awesome 😎
☮️❤️👍🏿👍👍🏽👍🏽👍👍🏿❤️☮️
Very cool chic palais! 🐓 Good job Simon ✨️
The chicken house looks fab you could probably add a water butt from a gutter at the side then they will have water on a constant basis 😊
