  1. I think the fact that it is EXTREMELY easy to drop the difficulty by mistake, and not have the option to raise it back up entitle the buyer to a full refund no matter how many hours they have on it. Seriously thinking of dropping this game even after being mesmerized by how beautiful it is. Extremely poor mechanics design

  2. I think Konami, the dev team, the writer, the composers, and everyone involved have put together a very good game for both new fans of the series and hardcore SH lovers.
The lore and atmosphere are great (if you've been to Japan like I have, you'll be thinking, 'Look, I've seen that!' or 'Oh my god, I know what that is!' and 'I want to go back to Japan…' more than be scared of the game XD), the sound design is top-notch, and the character design is solid too.
The story is interesting, but it's quite foggy (pun intended) and maybe a bit too foggy. I felt a lack of engaging narrative hooks. Instead, a lot of what happens you don't fully realize until the end, or even until a New Game+ playthrough. Normally, if a game is good, playing it again to soak in all the flavor is fine, right? NO. Not for me.
Sadly, combat is the worst part of the game, and it completely stopped me from replaying it. It's not inherently bad, it actually starts off well with the weapon durability, dodging, and Souls-likeish fights, but man, after the first hour, it just gets boring and repetitive. At a certain point, I just wanted the game to end. Some creatures are interesting and symbolic, but eventually, they become a total pain in the ass and aren't fun at all.
I played 90% of the game on the highest difficulty, then dropped it to story mode just to speed through combat. Since fighting eventually loses its value (no tension, no fear), I'd recommend playing the first half on hard and then switching to story mode.

  3. Not gonna lie beat the game 3 times loved silent hill 2 remake this game kinda sucked 😅😅😅 the combat was fun at first but becomes repetitive fast and the story is just non sense

  4. Alright tried this, the atmosphere and story are so good but the puzzles really hurt the experience for me personally. Not that I mind puzzles but F doesn't give you much time between them at all. You finish one and within 5 minutes you're confronted with another. My last straw was after the scarecrow puzzle (which is super stressful in the first place) you're immediately pushed into another puzzle afterwards. This happened couple of times just a few hours in and it really wore me down. Was expecting a horror game with puzzles not a puzzle game with horror. Unless you really like puzzles I can't recommend this one.

  5. The puzzles are dumb. I have this game on my Series X and PC with my TUF 5090. The Japanese setting looks beautiful especially on PC. Looks too cartoonish on console. Should've been optimized better.

  6. I loved the OG Silent Hill games when I was a kid, so I was excited to see what this game was gonna be like.

But then it released and was forgotten with the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

Just saw that it's on sale though, so I might go ahead a buy it.

  7. As a hardcore silent hill fan i didnt like the game to be named SILENT HILL. As an individual game it is good of course. But the silent hill as a town is a character itself, the main character is missing, and we can't ignore that.
