It is easy to put on robes, memorize lines, and call yourself a Buddhist…even though you act in contradiction to the Lord Buddha's teachings. It is easy to call yourself anything for your own goals and desires… People call themselves devout Buddhists, devout Muslims, devout Jews, devout Christians… yet here we are… watching the world burn under these so called devouts.
