VERY impressed with that Emirates Airbus pilot aborting the landing and going around for another try. Navy carrier pilots have a saying "Never be too proud to take a wave-off!" If it feels wrong, it IS wrong! Do it over.

That is not too late, the pilot intentionally used the entire runway for maximum speed.

I’m not a pilot but I dispute the terminology. The aircraft didn’t takeoff late, it rotated late. Fortunately not too late to clear the runway, etc.
Obviously the plane did not take off 'too late'.

IL-76 Pilot: What is problem? I take off before runway end. Besides, problem runway too short. Besides, plane rated for grass fields. We had 300 meters more for takeoff. Da?
PS: On the Saudi 777, I refuse to fly on any airline based east of Berlin or south of Tel Aviv, with the exception of QANTAS.
