It appears Jackie’s long-time partner, Shadow, has a new friend. Friends of Big Bear Valley shared a video from the live nest cam that shows two bald eagles on the nest. Read more here:

Its roughly 10 am Sunday morning Big Bear time and KD1 is currently perched in the nest back porch at a slightly lower level from the nest height. She's been hanging out there a while seeming to have claimed the nest as hers by now with a number of visits. So far it appears like she's there to stay. You can see her at the nest on Big Bear Cam 1.

they started as friends and then became lovers Jackie the angel hovers to watch over and say yes make a nest make babies with Kady she was sent to be with my Shadow to love and comfort in his sorrow.
No eagle is as beautiful as our beloved Jackie, however, we know Shadow will eventually choose a new mate. Whichever one he chooses we will learn to love, as we did with Jackie. ❣
It’s quite obvious by their interaction that she is a female, it was also quite obvious that he’s not quite there and he still looks aloof, he knows Jackie is gone but he is going through the stages of grief. Young Kadee knows also he is widowed and she shows enormous respect to Shadow and the nest, and to Jackie.
If she’s banded they know it’s a girl they’re together most of the time. Except while Jackie was missing he took care of the eaglets just before they flew the nest. I love you Jackie ❤ thank you for the memories and Glad shadow is not lonely 🩵
But one thing that eagle can never replace Jackie
Need to give the new eagle a name. I'm thinking Sunshine or Blaze since they don't have its sex yet.
