Bill O’Reilly: Americans can be doing more to reach financial freedom | CUOMO

In a recent poll, 95% of Americans said the U.S. is in an affordability crisis, with more than half saying they’re struggling to buy groceries. Political commentator Bill O’Reilly tells NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo that if Americans are struggling, it’s because they need to work harder.

Chris Cuomo hosts “CUOMO,” a no-nonsense show featuring the day’s most important news from all perspectives. “CUOMO” airs weeknights at 8p/7C on NewsNation. #CUOMO

  1. O Riley lives in the dreamworld just because he’s somewhat made it then everybody can do it. That’s not realistic.when prices keep going up faster than income it’s very hard to save and in many cases are under and overwhelmed with debt and still with two jobs he’s out of touch and old wake up bill

  2. The only positive thing is that this “pull yourself up by your boot-straps” boomer mind virus will die with bill and his generation. Then we can start fixing the mess they left for us.

  3. from the beginning there is an issue with Mr O'reilly view on assets accumulation…

If you are working for 20 years and all you have is 1000….
yes , this person could be better at saving but , that also means this person, (if in this example we say a factory worker) , has invested 20 years of his health and time for a business to profit from this labor.
This isn't marxist as an opinion but rather logic…. You can be a smart business man , but you cannot sale anything if no one is there to build your product, distribute your product and maintain it in a way that will be profitable.

The huge issue today is that most top businesses believe that profit should be in the above 90 % which invariably means that it's workforce will be the first to drop and of course there will then build a medieval like culture between the royalty versus to the peasants. You can even hear it in the mentality of Bill O'Reilly, the idea that all Americans have freedom of choice which is so wrong. To change your job, it takes an education and an education cost a lot of money.

I would strongly suggest to any american to aim for Construction since we have a massive amount of Baby Boomers who are going to retire however, it doesn't change the fact that everything in the US cost more expensive then it should.

The United States produces all of its ressource and yet, the cost of Fruits, Vegetables and Salad is really high…
Healthcare is extremly costly even though your taxes pay for grants that allow pharmaceuticals to have massive cash back for all the research they do. Americans are essentially fronting a good 40% of the cost and yet, they will pay 150% of the finished merchandise while Mexico and Canada pays very little…

This isn't a republican or Democrat issue, its an american one… and the people need to fix it by being united.

  4. Cumo, the world was destroyed after WWII – the US made everything for the world for almost 2 decades, starting right around 1939. O’Reily is correct, the build up to war is what got us out of the great depression.

  5. There's no communist thing. Its 1 mayor, who has good policies, he just happens to brand himself a certain way. Nothing in this country is going in any direction towards socialism or communism. It's right wing fear mongering bullshit

  6. Americans have a spending problem , not an affordability problem. All of the prior generations had the same inflation issues as now, he difference back then is the average American didn't live beyond their means. They worked hard , made wise decisions & saved $$$

  7. Why even put this old wreck on anymore…why? He was barely palatable when he was a younger guy and was just an insufferabble arrogant boorish bully ..who always appealed to dumb asses. His audience. Now in the twiglight of his years – and clearly nothing better to do with his time – looks like a hideous reenactment of a guy who should have put away his skis 20 years ago. We're watchig a corpse on borrowed time. I actually feel sorry for him….

  8. Bill O’Reilly screaming about Communism but not one word about Elaine Chao’s trip to China. And not one mention of merging our military with 🇮🇱! We’re not doing enough? I’m throwing away all his books and not ever buying another one!

  9. Bill O’Reilly is so out of touch. I used to watch his show on Fox in the 90’s and 2000’s – Was he always like this ? It seems like he just took a nose dive towards THE DARK SIDE.

  10. The dissonance is that O'Reilly gets millions to just blab. Someone who bust their ass all day might make $20-25 hr and many times much less. FOX spent a fortune settling O'Reillys sexual harrassment cases until they had enough and fired him. Him lecturing the working class is ridiculous.

  11. Yup, be really stingy. Only buy what you need, not what you want. Don't buy anything new. Find free stuff rich people throw away like furniture on rich neighborhood curbs…work main job and hustle or after work school to earn credentials for higher wage… Live way below your means. Invest all savings into stocks…. In 2,3 decades and you'd be rich. Don't buy a house, not a good investment..
This is what all first gen immigrants do… If one is poor, one must be have like first gen immigrants who came with nothing, not even English sometimes.

1st gen immigrant here. Got 2 masters while working full time. Still driving a 2016 paid off, cheap mazda 3 sedan with a small dent the back bumper. My w2 tax was more than 100k last year. Live below your means…invest all your savings….

  12. In 1971 President Nixon suspended the US dollar from the gold standard thus allow allowing the unlimited printing US dollars. If the federal minimum wage from 1971, it kept past with the national debt from that would be well over 100 dollars per hour. It’s out of balance but the politicians don’t care they just keep working multiple jobs just to survive. F them

  13. I agree with Cuomo im a Trump supporter but the economy has changed its a lot more expensive than People like Bill O'Reilly he doesn't feel it he has a lot of money. If a person is working two jobs that's not lazy Bill.
