J-Hope became BTS’s sunshine. In his own words, carrying that name was more complicated than it looked.
This fan-made J-Hope documentary follows Jung Hoseok’s early dance years in Gwangju, his first attempts at rap, and the responsibility he attached to his stage name. Hope World gave that name a sound. Jack in the Box made room for the doubts he had been carrying with it.
Through interviews and backstage footage, we follow the pressure before Lollapalooza, military service, his solo tour Hope on the Stage, and his return to BTS for ARIRANG. His search for a safety zone runs through the film: somewhere the person offering hope to everyone else could find some for himself.

Very well done! Deep and sensitive, just like the subject! J-hope refers to himself as an artist, and I think that's perfect since he displays such a variety of talents. When he released Killin' It Girl, I knew it was just the beginning of new heights for him. He won't be kept in a box. My wish for him is to receive as much happiness and hope as he provides to so many.
Jhope put every single ounce of his energy into this performance and it was grueling. But he pulled it off and made history and gained massive recognition…I was so happy when jimin went to join him as he needed that. Jhope will always be our sunshine but also the sweetest most talented and most caring young man .
