At the heart of “the secret of h” is a deeply personal story. Inspired by a real-life experience, the song chronicles the emotional devastation of entrusting one’s deepest secrets to someone once considered irreplaceable—only to have that trust shattered. Through vivid lyrical imagery, the record captures the fear, humiliation, heartbreak, and emotional collapse that follow when private wounds are exposed for others to see. Reflecting on the project, CHAN SAI GAAN shared: “Before I knew it, this became my seventh lead single of the year. It felt like the right moment to create something completely different from the six ballads and mid-tempo songs I’ve released so far. That’s why I chose ‘the secret of h’ to open the next—and much darker—chapter of my music.”

談及歌曲背後的真實故事，他亦毫不避諱分享：「這首歌真實紀錄了自己被朋友出賣的難過感受。先旨聲明，我不是因為記仇唷（笑）！這只是誠實記錄自己人生有過的一段特別感覺。」他表示，真正令人崩潰的並不是秘密被知道，而是那份曾經毫無保留的信任，被最重要的人親手摧毀。「畢竟，將深藏心底的秘密託付給自己完全信任的人卻慘遭出賣，對於曾經鼓起的勇氣、被背叛的痛苦和無力感、心的創傷，都會讓人徹底崩潰。」
He also revealed the true inspiration behind the song. “This record honestly documents how it felt to be betrayed by someone I once called a friend. Just to be clear—I didn’t write it because I’m holding a grudge. (Laughs.) It’s simply an honest record of a very real feeling I experienced in my life.” For the artist, the deepest wound wasn’t that someone learned the secret—it was that the person he trusted the most chose to betray that trust. “When you finally find the courage to entrust your deepest secrets to someone you truly believe in, only to have them betray you, the pain, helplessness, and emotional scars can completely break you.”

Yet despite its heavy subject matter, “the secret of h” ultimately carries a message of healing rather than revenge. “I hope this song reminds everyone who’s been through something similar that the blame belongs to the people who abused our trust—not to those of us who chose to be sincere.” Born from heartbreak but driven by resilience, “the secret of h” transforms one of life’s darkest experiences into a fearless musical statement about trust, betrayal, and emotional survival.
