Colin Kaepernick Continues “The Perilous Fight” 10 Years After Taking a Knee | The Daily Show

Super Bowl quarterback, civil rights activist, and bestselling author Colin Kaepernick joins Josh Johnson to discuss his new memoir, “The Perilous Fight.” They reflect on the 10-year anniversary of Kaepernick’s kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial injustice and police brutality, the idea that activism doesn’t need to be earned, it’s required for society to work, and a reframing of risk assessment in activism that asks, “What do we risk if we don’t take action?” #DailyShow #ColinKaepernick #Activism #NFL

  1. Sometimes people think if they aren’t out on the street, protesting or in an organization ~ they aren’t “involved” in the process of getting involved. I work as a cashier and use my position of interacting with people every day to encourage others to be compassionate, respectful and supportive of others by being those things when we interact. Anyone can do it if they want to.
You may already be doing it but don’t consider it “activism” ~ but it is. ❤🙏☮️

  2. It would be amazing and show much respect to Colin if, at every stadium game in the US, every man woman and child started taking a knee during the anthem. Look at how upset certain members of government were back then. It would send a powerful message if every American participated. None of us are free until ALL of us are free.💪✊️

  3. The Political voice of Black America runs through YouTube channels The Black Authority, Professor Black Truth, Tariq, Vicki Dillard, with honorable mentions of Afro Elite, Black Alpha, AntCeo, Tim Black, Sabby Sabs, Bad Faith, and Dana with the Data YT channels. If you watch content without black americans from grassroots and on code to include main stream Political News you're misinformed.

  4. Um this dude isn't funny, seems like a house… kaepernik in aggressive makeup, this sux lost respect for this show which is skewing more by the day, so disappointing especially kap the other dude is clearly trash, his stand up is and he clearly just reads what they tell him.

  5. Kaepernick was thoughtful and articulate. Had only peripherally known his name and some incident re: “taking a knee.” Didn’t know the context. He’s an impressive person. Glad I got to hear him.

  6. The time is always right to do what is right! -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The time is always now! And it is definitely the time to take two knees! 🦵🏾🦵🏾 🙏🏾 9:25

  7. Josh did the best interview with Colin that I have seen. I think Colin likes Josh and there was a flow. Colin is so intelligent (and tall!), I look forward to reading his new book. The thing about the NFL combine making these men walk in their underwear…that’s deep.. sounds like an auction block.

  8. He is STILL my Quarterback

Kaep was one of the most incredible prospects and up and coming NFL players to ever be cut short of what their career should have been

He could've been one of the greatest 49ers ever simply from a statistical standpoint

As is, he is still one of the greatest 49ers and NFL players ever
