Correlation Coefficient r in Desmos: Why a Line Gives r = 1 or r = −1 | Algebra 1

To find the line through points in Desmos, make a table and type y₁ ~ mx₁ + b. Desmos gives the slope m, the y-intercept b, and one more number: r, the correlation coefficient. When all the points sit exactly on a line, r = 1 if the slope is positive and r = −1 if the slope is negative. That stays true even with more than two points, as long as they are all on the line.
